Good morning everyone,

Just setting up a new chat thread for August. If you would like to catch up on July's chat you can click here. Please note that it's now locked, so you won’t be able to reply to that thread.

The chit chat thread is for: Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!

  • I believe peppermint tea can help stomach issues...

  • Hi everyone

I'm taking a few days off from my laptop, so I won't be posting for a while.

It is a 'good' reason why.....my oldest 'bestie' is coming to stay, so I'm hoping we'll be very busy catching up and travelling about, if the weather lets us.

Hope everyone has a good week this week, with successful appointments, treatments and anything else you're doing.

    xxxxx Kate

  • That is indeed sad but sounds like it's for the best...you have a good evening too

  • Buscopan used to work for me but not anymore. I have got Colofac - mebeverine this time. It helps a bit more but the relentless pain is getting me down. I will ask for another/ additional one for the next cycle and see. There is ‘No-Spa’ from Eastern Europe/ Russia / Asia, supposed to be really good anti cramp medicine. But not available in UK, so maybe a weekend trip o Krakow is what one needs!

Managed a small walk in the sunshine so feel a small victory against stomach cramps!

  • So sorry to read this Lucy! That must have been a difficult decision for you and your dad to make. It sounds like your mum is being well cared for in a good place. I hope she settles there so you and your dad can have some relaxed times ahead.

My mum is 94, with dementia and mobility issues. She is as stubborn as a mule, and very demanding of everyone. There is HUGE friction in my family about her care, so much so that I've cut all contact with 2 of my siblings. It is very hard when it affects the whole family.

Hope you and your dad have some positive things planned.

    xxxx Kate

  • You have a lovely time Kate, make the most of it and hope the weather is kind to yo. xxu

  • Hi Lucy

It must be very hard for you and your dad to make this decision. I am glad your mum is being well looked after and in a safe environment for her and others.

Hope you had a lovely day x

  • Hi Kate, I hope you enjoy your friend visiting! The weather shouldn’t matter much, so just forget he weather and do whatever you enjoy!

    Love Annette x

  •    I am so sorry to hear about your mum. That must of been so upsetting for you all. You have definitely made the right decision not only for your mum but for your dad as well. Terribly sad, dementia is such an awful disease. X
