  • I forgot to mention, lol, multi tasking is a myth at the best of times, for those of us with memory/concentration issues, it's a no no, and if your having problems keeping up with a conversation, concentrate on the person your talking too, I tell them I struggle and "staring" helps me enormously.

  • Hi Thea, it's wonderful to hear from you, it's been a while my friend, and I hope your in a good place, and the kids are well. I'm looking into a short break in Northern Ireland, and am asking the guys about their experiences living or holidaying there, Belfast, would be our base, but we love the countryside, and I'm getting some wonderful suggestions, we may have to stay longer.

  • Evening All

Been a bust   with phone calls, as put  laptop on this morning and  some  undesirables had completely shut it down yes been scammed.

Good job my son has a  Microsoft degree, loads  of phone calls, he lives 4 hours away from me, was like trying to teach an old dog  new tricks, but this one got taught, though a lot of hair pulling.

Hope you have all had a good day  and made the most of it, what ever it may have been.

  • Hi Kate, I love to go to Mount Stewart, it's only ½hr from my house. It's on the Ards Peninsula and that's where Strangford Lough is. Sometimes we drive down that Peninsula to Portaferry where the Aquarium is. There's a little car ferry there to take you to the town of Strangford and that's my side of the Lough. Just 2 miles from Strangford is another National Trust house and gardens called Castle Ward which I prefer to Mount Stewart. Carry on on that road and you come to Downpatrick with it's cathedral. Keep on past Downpatrick and about 13 miles away is where I live.

I might be a touch biased but it's a lovely part of the world

  • Hi again Tvman

Yes, our coach travelled down the side of the lough to Downpatrick after being at the gardens. We spent quite a long time there. We had heatwave weather all week, so it was lovely to sit in the cool cathedral and soak up the atmosphere.

We haven't had a holiday since then, as whatever we've arranged, the plans go awry....mainly for medical reasons! So maybe we should be spontaneous, hop on a ferry and set off! It is a beautiful part of the world.

Thanks for reminding me of a lovely holiday!

  • Hello everyone

Good to see you back posting

well done for persevering and sorting out your laptop , isn’t technology great until it doesn’t work !!

We had a lovely week in Greece but felt a bit low since we got back at the weekend, not sure why exactly, I think just coming back to “reality” hit me a bit …..anyway had a word with myself today and reminded myself that I’m still well enough to travel and for that I’m thankful

No hospital appointments until end of next week - yayy!!!

My kids are both home at the weekend so looking forward to seeing them and catching up with their lives

Hope everyone is doing as well as possible and any appointments go smoothly

    Lots of love

    Lucy xx

  • Glad you enjoyed   your holiday make the most of it.

Went to Greece a few times, then went to Crete, and that carried on we fell in love with it.

    Enjoy your kids being home.

    xx

  • Hi Ellie, Sounds like between you and your son you’ve “socked it to them” fantastic!

  • Oh Ellie, what a nightmare that must have been, opening up your laptop and discovering some low life had done that to you. So lucky that your son is a whizz in computers. Big relief for you that between the two of you that you're back in charge. Well done to your son for good clear communication.

  • You're very welcome Kate, you would have passed many good spots on your way from Mount Stewart to Downpatrick, especially the top of my country road!
