  • Oh Patrick, Thanks for the thought but Sunday was spent taking pictures down (a lot as my husband is a photographer) moving furniture, clearing the Living/dining room because we have painters arriving at 08.30 to start there and then Tuesday to paint the Hall. It is so much work clearing a room and then we will have to do it all again next month when the carpet & flooring get delivered! Phew! I’m tired just thinking about it but it will be worth it when it’s done! I hope you had a relaxing Sunday!

  • Hi Ellie, Glad you enjoyed your meal and trip out! I think when anywhere is a family run business they take pride in pleasing their customers and I’d far rather give them the business than the Weatherspoons etc whose menu gets boring after a while.

Home shopping is great, I did some during Lockdown and am thinking I will try again soon. I went for the shopping last Wednesday so that Vince didn’t need to do it and it was exhausting! I used to quite like shopping but not any more. Do you find with Internet shopping, if they don’t have what you’ve asked for, then they throw in something else that is not necessarily similar to what you asked for? That’s what made me stop but needs must! Who do you shop with? I am talking about Asda but now we have a Morrisons and a Tesco nearby! I understand exactly  what you mean about the normal things you miss! Wow, 9 aptms, I think I have 4 or 5 next month and Vince has a few also! I suppose it’s got to be done, no wonder you sleep at night, it is exhausting! You are as always in  my thoughts and prayers!

  • Good morning Sunrise

I am sorry to hear you have not been well Annett but glad you are on the mend now. Home decoration is hard work so much prep and dust. Hope it all goes well.
Ellie glad you had a lovely day out Grinning. It is nice just to get out of the front garden which I am going to try today. The chemo treatment makes me so tired for the first 5 days but hopefully I am better from today onwards.
Lilly your boyfriend Winston has been naughty again. He has deliberately peed on Craig’s seat as Craig had a night away recently.
I have been quite tired mainly watching the golf open and shopping Shopping bags️ online for the holidays. Not sure what I am going to do with all these green safari gear afterwards Rofl
Tvman the golf open course looks beautiful and the coastline is stunning too. Is it anywhere near you?

  • Hi Stella,  your flowers are beautiful, you certainly have a talent for flower arranging.  Naughty Winston peeing on his dad's chair.  As to the safari gear, you have to go on another safari of course Joy.

  • Good thinking! Let’s see how this safaris goes first! I am so excited but also worried about over doing things and end up in hospital.
But I told Craig I rather die because of overdoing the holiday than from B****y cancer. Rofl

  • Hi Stella, I watched a lot of the Open golf and it was amazing to hear the cheering and see the following of Rory McIlroy, I heard a couple of reports that the spectators' cheering could be heard all around the course and thousands of people were following him with 10 plus people deep at every hole. The commentators said they had never seen such scenes and continually mentioned the beauty of the coastline.

I've been up that way many, many times and indeed the scenery is wonderful. I live almost as far away as possible from Portrush in East Down and the Portrush coastline is more to the north west of Northern Ireland. I can see some of the Mourne Mountains from my house and my council area is Newry, Mourne and Down. I'm in the Mourne area.

I'm 2 miles from Strangford Lough which is the largest sea inlet in Ireland and the wider British Isles. Strangford Lough was designated as Northern Ireland's first Marine Conservation Zone in 2013, and has been designated a Special Area of Conservation for its important wildlife. Three quarters of the world population of pale bellied brent geese spend winter in the lough area. It's truly a wonderful place to live.

I also live in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in the second field behind me is Carrigullion Lough. Fifty-four species of aquatic Coleoptera (Water Beetles) have been recorded there, making it the second richest site in Northern Ireland for this group. I also live in an Area of Special Scientific Interest!

Here endeth the geography lesson lol, you can probably get the message that I'm very happy to live in the area.

  • Morning Stella, I lived in Northern Ireland for nearly 20 years and can only second what TVman is saying. It is a beautiful part of Ulster. So is Strangford Lough he is talking about. We used to goGrinningo a Hotel by the Lough for Sunday Lunch sometimes. I like Rory McIlroy very much. He is a great fan of the Ulster Rugby Club and tries to go to Ravenhill Road as often as he can. I love Rugby too,  Such fun to watch. My ex husband was a great Rugby enthusiast and we used to go as often as possible. Hope you will be back to yourself very soon. Not long now before your special holiday. Lilly is saying hello to Winston. She is not a happy Bunny today because of the rain. Has gone into the bedroom and under the duvet for a good old nap. Very tempted myself to close my eyes for a bit too. Have a good rest of the day and give Winston a cuddle from his girlfriend. Love to you all from

  • Awww, Tvman, why have I never been to Northern Ireland, it sounds amazing, I'm also watching the golf and the little of what you see on TV, even in pouring rain looks beautiful, PS, I'm only on day two so no spoilers please.

No AONBs in Doncaster, but very rich in wildlife, we have 6 species of Deer, wild boar, Eagle owls, little, cattle and common Egrets, purple heron, spoonbill and an occasional sea eagle, and lots of warm, dry sunny weather, so look out for reptiles.

Looks like we're going to book another holiday, any advice welcome my friend, and I hope you and your loved ones are well.
