Hi Angie and Lilly, spiders are like Marmite, you love them or hate them. In my case I really don't mind them but I can understand that if you have a fear of them then that's a different ball game. I have a fear of balloons. Yes, balloons. They don't worry me if they're hanging around quietly, I hate touching them or the squeaky noise when people rub them and more so when people blow them up.
Ok, back to our spiders Angie and Lilly. I have done a little research on them and it seems they don't like peppermint or citrus. If you Google How to get rid of spiders, you'll get a few results and you can make your choice. I have a couple of ultrasonic emitting sounds in my garage and in my veg plot that are supposed to deter mice, rats and other undesirables. Some of the items that were results, say that they deter spiders too. Good luck

The above message generated a message from the community admin people thanking me for reaching out for help?
Maybe one of the team could contact me to say which word or phrase was the reason I was thought to be reaching out for help so I don't accidentally cause concern again.
Hi Tvman,
Sorry for the delayed response, we might not always see everything posted, so it's best to email or PM Moderator - Macmillan Community if you have questions for the team.
I think Eddie already offered you a helpful explanation, thank you eddiel.
Our safeguarding pop-up message message appears when a member uses certain phrases which might indicate that they are in crisis. In this case, it was literally the word 'crisis'.
I don't know whether you remember the time of the New Zealand flat worms crisis when somehow they arrived in the UK maybe 20 years ago and began predating our worms?
I'm afraid that the system is not sophisticated enough to understand the difference between a member talking about worms and someone using the word 'crisis' and needing urgent help.
Please don't worry about avoiding using words like this, if the pop-up message doesn't apply to you, please simply ignore it. As soon as you click past the pop-up, your message will be posted as normal.
We have the safeguarding pop-up to make sure anyone in crisis gets recommendations of additional support, so that everyone is kept well supported whatever their circumstances.
Thank you for questioning and I hope this response is helpful for everyone
