The colours are much more vibrant than in the photo

Finished all my granny squares, now to join them together to make a cardigan. Not bad for first ever attempt...wish u could see the vibrant pinks and yellows. Need luck now to learn to join the squares..hahaha

I now have more squares on the go in earthy colours...hugs and love

  • Well done! Looking great so far, looking forward to seeing the finished work . Xx

  • Hi That looks good, I’m sure when it is all put together you will notice the colours better! There are great tips on uTube about how to connect them. That was exactly what I was looking at last tonight. Did you know there are 7 different ways of joining them! Are you following a pattern? Keep going, it’ll be great. It would be seen by possibly more people if you copy it to the Craft & Hobby Post!

  • Hahaha.. me follow a pattern..or recipe for that matter...I usually start with a pattern but deviate..with this I saw a picture, counted the squares and scribbled the number down and basic design..etc..

Think that's why I gave my fairisle a rest, because I need to follow the pattern faithfully.

Teachers always said I needed to learn to concentrate hahaha

Are u working on anything at the moment  Annette...your Easter baskets were gorgeous.

  • Hi Fleabane

Your squares look great. Mine aren't always square. Lol. Love the colour palette too. I may have to try it myself once I finished my shawl. It's 4m of knitting and I'm still working my way through the first meter.

  • Ooo would live to see your shawl when finished. I am a knitter, crocheting is new to me lol. I had to put my knitting down for a rest...too demanding on my brain at the moment  hahaha

This is the fairisle I was working on

    Sending u hugs sweety...

  • That looks great too. Far too complicated for me. My shawl is quite boring. It's plain knitting in a navy blue. Very simple. 2 rectangular pieces and sewn together half way.

It's actually for my son. When he was little he used to come down and wrap himself in one of my old ones. The new one he will inherit when I am gone. It's made of alpaca wool and really soft.

  • What a wonderful idea. And alpaca wool is lovely and nice to work with.

Funnily enough fairisle looks complicated but it is only ordinary knitting but using different colours.

I admit my eyes aren't what they used to be so I have to write the pattern down because following a grid I get muddled.. hahaha

    Hence, now doing crochet squares...haha
