Good morning all everyone,
Just setting up a new chat thread for May. If you would like to catch up on April's chat you can click here. Please note that it's now locked, so you won’t be able to reply to that thread.
The chit chat thread is for:
Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!
Even having a laugh, that is a normal life, and we all have it.
If you have a special topic please start a new thread so people that wish to see it can, and can comment.
Morning everyone
Feels a bit chilly again today - a quiet day for me after a busy weekend full of visitors which was lovely
tvman I hope you get sorted without further delay . I don’t blame you re avoiding A&E , jewellery shopping was a wise choice !
The twins sound like a joy eddiel it’s great that you seem to get to see them fairly regularly- babies grow and change so quickly
I have my targeted therapy on Friday, I don’t think it’s working based on new symptoms but my scan will confirm and there will be a new plan - I am trying not to jump ahead and focus on today . This group helps me so much and feels like a security blanket

Morning Lucy, good to hear you had a lovely weekend, always nice to see family and friends, and a quiet day is not without it's benefits.
Your right may friend, the little ones grow up so quickly, so it's lovely to be able to see them regularly to see it, and they remember you too.
Best wishes for Friday, I will have everything crossed for you, and please don't think side effects, symptoms, are always an indication of how well treatment is working.
Eddie xx
Hi Lucy
Have you informed your team about your new symptoms? I had all sort of random pains since started my chemo. However, the oncologist told me they are related to the treatment rather than cancer progression. So I would not jump to the worst scenario first even though our brains are programmed to do that.
My psychologist always said trying to look at any situation 360 degrees rather than focus on the worst case as it is not fair nor is the truth. Thoughts are not fact!
Hope you have a good day x
Many thanks Stella
I have got a clinic appointment with my consultant in a couple of weeks, spoke to my CNS last week and she said the same as you ie try not to focus on negative outcomes.
I think the grey and wet skies are not helping today .
I might pop out for a browse in my local garden centre- although I generally struggle to come out empty handed !!!!
Will keep you updated and hope you have better weather then me !

Hi Lucy, like winter here, I fill like I have run a marathon, stripped and changed the bed, mind you I have never run a marathon.
I started Target therapy in Feb, and finished Brain radio in Feb, have had both scans, and tomorrow oncologist.
Your right any out the norm, our minds go into over drive, and always think the worse, why wouldn't we., we are a human, its a long hard road, we travel at times.
Thoughts are with you.
Hi Lucy
I had a reply ready for you/everyone and it has disappeared! I was on the phone at 9am to the cancer unit and the pharmacy rang back 5 minutes later with an apology. She offered to get the Red Cross bring it to me but I was going in that direction so I went there myself.
The girl from the pharmacy was out to see me almost immediately, apologising profusely. She also said that the head pharmacist was going to be told as was my haematologist because I had missed 2 injections. I've just taken what should have been yesterday's injection. It's ok to do that if for some reason it's not taken on the correct day but I can't take another one for last Friday.
Annette, you were asking if that had happened before, well it has, sort of. That time I wasn't given enough injections. I should have had 16 white cells injections but I had only 8 so that was a simple remedy, 8 more were delivered.
Tvman x
Glad you got sorted TVman. I have been having random chest pains for the last few days and it sort of hurts when I eat. I have an oncology appointment tomorrow so will let them know. Also I know that I should have been having regular ECG's because of this targeted therapy and it can affect your heart. I have not had one since starting treatment and getting a bit worried now. We will see tomorrow what happens. Hope everyone has a good day. Good luck tomorrow Ellie x
