Good morning all everyone,

Just setting up a new chat thread for May. If you would like to catch up on April's chat you can click here. Please note that it's now locked, so you won’t be able to reply to that thread.

The chit chat thread is for:

Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!

Even having a laugh, that is a normal life, and we all have it.

If you have a special topic please start a new thread so people that wish to see it can, and can comment.

  • Hi Fleabane, WOW, you've got me jealous, not only a castle by the sea, but introducing your little furry friend to all the amazing things by the sea, I hope little Phoebe learns quickly not to drink seawater, and I know I don't have to say it, but have a wonderful time.

Greece, is all new to me too, we are staying at the villa of friends of my aunties, sadly no pool, so will have to walk 25 meters to the sea.

Awww, I used to wilt in the heat too, I can't go without a t-shirt, and wear a hat and fac 50, but I do enjoy the heat now, and don't peel.

I hope you all enjoyed a lovely walk, and it wasn't too hot for you, it's been 10C cooler than yesterday so the sweaters back on. a friend and I went to recce a crafts group, which we both enjoy, and had a little lunch, and Sheila and I are going to the kids mum's to celebrate her finishing chemo, I might just have a cider.

  • Hi Puddock, their not my hens and ducks, they belong to my allotment neighbour, they needed more space and light, and I needed too keep the weeds down in the orchard, so a win win, a win win win win, really as the hens get much more room and light, and I get free eggs, with no responsibility, 2 of the hens were ones I'd given her 8 months ago, and they remembered everything straight away about their old home, so not so stupid after all.

How are you doing my friend, I'll PM you later,

    love Eddie and Sheila xx

  • Hi Eddie

I'm bumbling along, trying to keep occupied without doing anything too physical! I'm missing Candy and my dog walks, becoming very unfit!

Have been doing my befriending volunteering too.

I still can't drive very far, but my shoulder is healing slowly and I hope to make a full recovery.

I envy you going to Greece....had some lovely holidays there, and it's the best time of year to go.

    xxx Kate

  • Good afternoon

Hope everyone is having a relaxing day.
I have not done much today as feeling quite tired. Has cut a few flowers to put in the bathroom. I found even small amount of fresh flowers really brighten up the place.
Eddie very jealous of your Greek holiday. It is good of you to keep a rein on your aunties. Stuck out tongue winking eye

  • Hi L, I grew up near Southwold in Suffolk, dad used to drive us to the sea after school, cold but awesome. My brother now sends me a calendar every year with coastal thenes from Aldeburgh, Walberswick, Lowestoft etc. Closest I can get to the British coast right now lol. I do envy you and know many who just take it for granted which is a shame I feel.

  • I’ve always loved the coast and now it brings a feeling of calm and space like nowhere else . I’ve never been to Suffolk but it is on our list , lots of very big skies to take in

  • Hi Puddock, I'm sorry, but not remotely surprised your still missing Candy my friend, she was always there for you through this difficult time, and they leave a big hole at the best of times. losing her now must be so much more difficult.

It's good to hear your well on the mend, and a full recovery sounds good, and your driving again, even if your still limited it opens up possibilities, and great to hear your volunteering, are you able to befriend face to face, or is it by phone, and how is Mike doing, is he behaving and don't you get to walk with him or his dogs or both.

Don't envy me just yet my friend, I've not got to Greece yet, my radiation proctitis which had me in hospital at the weekend, has flared up again, far too much blood, especially dead blood, not sure what to do, I definitely don't want to be 2½ hours from Athens in an emergency, I'll just up my water intake and hope for improvement, maybe the hot weather has meant I haven't been upping my fluids enough.

    love Eddie and Sheila xx

  • Lovely as always Stella, especially the second one which is so subtle, I hope your feeling better soon and Winston is behaving himself.

  • Hi Puddock, I love that phrase 'bumbling along' though I know it is not so quaint when you are forced to do it. New dog in the pipeline maybe? I admire anyone who volunteers - good on you!

  • Hi L1964, welcome to our group, hope you'll find it beneficial for your mental health and there are some very fine, lovely people here who will become good friends. I had been away for 2 years because of my wife contracting cancer also. She was and is to some extent quite ill and needed a lot of my support and care. Since returning to the group I know I have made the right decision to come back.

Looking forward to seeing your gardening pics in the gardening thread.
