Good morning all everyone,
Just setting up a new chat thread for May. If you would like to catch up on April's chat you can click here. Please note that it's now locked, so you won’t be able to reply to that thread.
The chit chat thread is for:
Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!
Even having a laugh, that is a normal life, and we all have it.
If you have a special topic please start a new thread so people that wish to see it can, and can comment.
Hi Eddie
All the best for your treatment tomorrow. How is Leslie? Has she finished her block of chemo? X
Thank you my friend, and Lesley has her last chemo cycle tomorrow, and like our eldest daughter, have defied the odds of their prognosees, both T4, and are very hopeful for a few more years, I was so sorry to hear about your friend sweetheart, but we are all different. as are our cancers even if they have the same name, as Angie said hope is so important, and it's understandable your feelings regarding your lovely friend, and fearing the worst for yourself, all perfectly normal, especially on chemo day, I hope you sleep well Stella.
love Eddie and Sheila xx
Hi Stella thanks for the kind words.
Yes I'm still able to enjoy the garden, I'd need to be really, really ill to not be able to enjoy it. I'm currently at Newtownards local hospital as Mrs Tvman is with the podiatrist. It's lovely again today in Northern Ireland, hot sunshine and hardly a cloud in the sky. Now there's a concern that we need water! We gardeners are never happy lol.
Take care Stella

Hello from a 6 month lurker, decided it was time for me to take the plunge and post ….
Here’s my bio :
I’m 61 and have advanced, aggressive ovarian cancer diagnosed October 2024. I’ve had surgery, chemo and now targeted therapy with 3 monthly scans and reviews . I know my prognosis is “life limiting” and as a very unpredictable and difficult to treat type of cancer I’m trying to enjoy every day to the full whilst I still feel relatively ok
I find peace of mind by being close to the sea and I’m lucky to live near the coastline
I’m also very fortunate to be cushioned by love (hubby , adult kids and a few close friends), to live in a nice house/location and not have financial worries- I know many are less fortunate
I’ve massively struggled with filling my days having stepped away from a very busy, demanding job but on the positive side discovered an interest in gardening (well more filling pretty pots !) so will post a few pics in the gardening thread
The positivity on this forum has helped me so much over the past 6 months when I have been in some very dark places but those days are becoming less as I move more to acceptance and of course longer days and copious amounts of sunshine helps too !’
Love to all
Lx
Hi L1964, and a very warm welcome to the forum, and a big well done for finally posting, as a lurker "previous", you will know what a wonderful bunch of fellas and girls are on our, and your special forum.
It's good to read all the positives you have in your life, which I know are so helpful with the dark days we all have, and good to know those awful day are fewer now, and your finding things to do to keep you busy, and gardening is great, a big favourite on the forum, and I look forward to seeing your works soon, and hasn't the weather been fab and lucky you living by the sea, no doubt with a lovely beach as well.
I've been on my journey 3 years now, prostate cancer everywhere, and it does get easier to get on with living, and my kids mum also has cancer Ovarian, malignant germcell tumour variant and is having her last infusion of her final cycle today,
My first Rose of the year.
