Hi Everyone
Can't find a suitable post to 'drop in on' and join in the conversation, so sorry if I've spoiled the continuity!
I'm back from my holiday in the North. The last leg of my journey was on the Settle to Carlisle railway line....probably the most scenic route in England??
I can highly recommend this mode of travelling for those, like me, who find driving long distances difficult. All of my trains were on time, and connected well, so I was able to travel easily to meet up with family.
I did a train holiday with my hubby a couple of years ago, up to Glasgow, then to Fort William and Mallaig. It was great fun! Parts of the journey were by steam trains too.
I'm getting used to life without Candy now, and thinking about 'finding' a dog that needs a comfy retirement home! Maybe Candy won't be my last dog.....
I'm looking after a friends dog next week, so I can keep up with my exercise. looking forward to it!
Well done to everyone who has had good news this week. Fingers crossed for everyone!
xxxx Kate

Hi Eddie,
Thank you for your support.
I do have a couple of places in mind.
Last year we went to a small town in Cantabria in Northern Spain that we had visited for years until COVID struck.
With that and my diagnosis, we hadn't been there since 2019.
I refused to go by plane so we took the overnight ferry from Plymouth to Santander.
We have travelled this way before.
It is so relaxing.
We stopped for two overnights on the way to Plymouth and one on the way home.
Another of my favourite places is Exmouth in Devon. We had many happy holidays there when the children were younger.
I would also like to visit Brittany and Normandy again. Another happy destination with the children.
So no firm plans yet but lots of ideas.
Enjoy your weekend in Scotland.
Helen
Hi Helen, your welcome, and thank you, we've almost arrived at our destination, and the weathers wonderful.
Cantabria sounds like a special place for you, I've not been, but we have been on the ferry a few times from Hull to Amsterdam and Bruges, and agree it's a wonderful way to travel.
As for Exmouth, always a favourite day away when we go to Devon, and my kids take their kids now.
You have some wonderful places in mind, and a difficult choice but it's something to look forward too, and to occupy the mind.
Eddie xx
Hi
I have joined the forum since last year and can completely understand your dilemma.
I try to live every day as it comes. Some days better than others. But I always try to find some pleasures in small things such as pick nice flowers or have a small walk.
I also make short term plans to meet up with friends weekly so there is something to looking forward to. It doesn’t always happen due to chemotherapy complications but I always make plans regardless.
I plan more substantial holidays too. My oncologist is very pro to this as the whole point of going through chemotherapy is so I can live a good life. I have made plans to the Italian lakes in June and safari in Zambia in July. It may not necessarily happen but it gives me hope and motivation to keep going.
You are already doing so well since diagnosis. Try to dream and plan so you can live well along side your medical condition.
Stella
Thankyou...a kick up my bottom is what I needed
It's like rehab isn't it...start and build up slowly.
Think I just lost motivation and confidence
Or maybe lost momentum with the wet cold winter
Love that u just get on with it...and i am very aware of trials and tribulations you put up with...
Stop making me having to look up words
No he isn't a poly..what ever u said..
Mmm the chickens are fine with the cats, but Phoebe, being a border collie puppy tries to herd and freaks them.
But the chickens are on lock down atm being protected from the bird flu
Here they are, Little Henny, Raven, Lily Fox and Salem..they are very spoilt.
Hiya Helen good news on the stable womb lesions...
I have kidney cancer. Kidney removed but not before Rufus and Lydia spread their off spring to my lungs
It's early days for me. Only just had comparison scan, results end of month to see if any growth.
Can't remember numbers think 5 lesions in right and 1 in left, still quite small
Sending you hugs and more sunshine to enjoy getting out and about
Keep your chin up.
Always here, we are not beaten yet
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
