Thank you Tvman, but Sheila doesn't go to the hospice as she's in good health and not my carer, and to be honest art's and craft's aren't her thing. How are things in NI, I hope your allotment wasn't too battered by the storm, it wasn't so bad here but the runners were flattened, but I'd sown some more 2 weeks ago which should be ready in October, I will plant some Kestrels at the end of the month so we have baking potato's for winter.

Hi Eddie, so all your own work, congratulations
Life isn't so bad here, encouraging to hear about the tourism industry, how well it's doing. The word is that there are 3 or 4 VIPs from the Yorkshire? area going to arrive here soon for a few days. I'd love to meet them for an afternoon or so. At least 1 of them is an enthusiastic allotmenteer.
The storm wasn't so bad this time, the worst that happened was some fleece was blown off a couple of beds of brassicas. I was pleasantly surprised that my sweetcorn plants and sunflowers were still standing, undamaged.
I have some Kestrel and Cara potatoes ready for use soon, some of course will be heading for Dundalk when my son comes back at weekends. I have some Picasso potatoes to finish first, maybe enough for 5 or 6 meals.
Take care Eddie

Hi my friend, I can't believe how lightly you got off with the storm, and I can understand your sweetcorn standing up to the winds , but not sunflowers, there not like any sunflowers I know,
It's also great to hear your son got a place in Dundalk, I'm sure Mrs T and yourself were delighted with the wonderful news.
I've tried many varieties of potato, and not being a big consumer of them, I'm happy with my Charlotte's and Kestrels. I used to grow sweet potato in a large container filled with manure in my big greenhouse after it's use as a hot bed was over for the season and it produced excellent results, much appreciated by the @÷#%#=& rats, lol.
Sadly my hoped for trip to NI, is off for now, as we only have 3 nights free, but there's a chance of a day trip to Larne or Belfast, and a meet up would be great, I'll let you know my friend.

Eddie, they are lovely, is there no end to your talents!
Unfortunately I will miss my Crochet Class this week and it is the first time I’ve missed it since I started! Because my nose and eyes are swollen and my neck is sore, I can’t have my glasses on for long before it hurts. I will be back next week hopefully.
Lots of the hobby classes here stop for the summer and start again Sept/Oct so maybe as the dark nights come in, more people will post here. Like Patrick and his baskets!

Hi Annette, that was my thoughts as well, and shouldn't you be trying to sleep my friend,I did reply elsewhere to your other post and before you ask why I'm not sleeping, I'm waiting for a newcomer to reply to my post, as she seemed distressed, I'll leave her some info and maybe inform the moderators; before I drop off
love Eddie and Sheila xx
Hi Eddie, Yes I did get some sleep Saturday,Sunday & Monday nights but because of my liver, I couldn’t take them any longer but the Oramorph is ok, it dulls the pain but doesn’t help me sleep any more.
To be honest, I know you have WiFi on the ship but I think you should forget the Forum just for the few days you are away and concentrate on a completely relaxing trip. You have great company and that will also help. Please look after yourself! I’m sure others will step in when needed!

Hi Eddie, superb efforts again. I'm guessing that your favourite animal to draw is a giraffe
I am hopeless at drawing anything, I can't envisage what an animal's characteristics are, to transfer them onto paper or canvas.
I'm currently doing the hardest jigsaw that I've ever attempted. I wouldn't like to say how long I've been at it. My eldest son bought me it, it's of a water scene with lots of vegetation, a painting by Claude Monet.

Hi Tvman, I like jigsaws and we did loads of them during lockdown. My husband is much better than me as I am so impatient. Maybe a photo of the finished piece. I am going to finish off my rabbit painting eventually and will post it on here. Winter is a good time for our indoor hobbies. I have been bought diamond art and a resin kit to make coaster etc so wont be bored. Hope you are feeling better.
