Hi Moi, Sorry to hear you have the flu! I hope you have had your vaccination and it isn’t too bad.
i thought I’d posted this earlier, so if it appears twice, I apologise.
Well are just waiting for the storm to hit here. Red alert for the first time ever winds of 80-100mph expected. Schools, nurseries, libraries, supermarkets etc etc all closed for today and all transport cancelled. I hope they are wrong! Stay safe everyone!
Love Annette x
Hi anndanv Christmas went with a blur really, we had a couple of bereavements in the family and my little doggie had an operation to remove a sarcoma. Thrown into the mix my eldest daughter got married which was wonderful, and really brightened what was a very stressful time.
We woke this morning to no water. The water company are currently trying to find the burst water main, so no idea how long we will be without water. Hubby ran to Tesco to get a couple of bottles of water, where people were filling their trolley’s ! He then spoke to his friend who lives outside Edinburgh who said you couldn’t have done that here as all supermarkets are closed! So I wasn’t surprised to read your post about the closures. Stay safe up there! I hope it isn’t as bad as predicted. Xx
Morning Chelle, I'm so sorry to hear about the losses in your family, my condolences to you and all their loved ones, and I hope your little friend is doing well post surgery, but it's wonderful to hear you've gained a son, and many congratulations to the couple, and please wish them, happiness and good health from me
Chelle, if I remember correctly, you also had problems with your water company a few weeks ago, I hope it's sorted soon, the company and the leak, My little brother who's staying with me, is not the trusting type so likes to be prepared.

Hi Annette, thanks feeling alot better today, at leased the shivers have stopped and I'm up, so onwards and upwards. Please stay safe, in Dublin the wind is 114 mph you not that far away in Scotland. We've got wind but it's not half as bad as your expecting Best wishes to all our friends on the site in Scotland. Stay safe xx
Moi
Yes that was the main reservoir, this time it’s a burst pipe, but does happen frequently here, we should be more prepared. I think the problem is where we live it was once a quiet little village, and the pipes have supplied us for many years. They have now built a huge housing estate ( for which I shouldn’t complain as we are in one of the new builds) but the old pipes cannot cope with the 4 thousand new households. I need to stock up I think.
Hi Chelle, the only thing they prepare for are the annual bonuses, they know where they should/shouldn't build, and the maximum load the existing infrastructure can cope with, long before development has begun, and we pay the price, for their make do and mend approach.

Hi Moi
Stay warm, and take it easy! Hope you are fully recovered soon.
The storm seems to be lessening here now. We haven't ventured outdoors at all today! I have no idea whether the local shops are open, but we have to drive through a forest to get to them, which would not be a sensible thing to do in this wind! Hope the roads aren't blocked.
It's a good excuse for a lazy day under the covers!
xxx Kate
Oh dear Moi, the flu is not what you would like as an extra burden. Glad you are cosy. Stay warm and safe. The storm has been building here for the last few hours. My felt from my shed just took off Thank goodness I was out getting coal in so I managed to get it before it could blow on the road or on a passing car. Thankfully hardly any traffic today. Schools closed at lunchtime to make sure thkids got home safe and sound. My son in law will come and fix the felt whenever this will pass. We already got notification that another storm is coming on Tuesday apparently. Aren’t we the lucky on xxx everyone stay warm, dry and safe for the next few hours
love Angie and a very unhappy Lilly xx
