I hope you had a wonderful time. Do you have a favourite meal? How are the grandkids?
I am afraid my father has never apologised nor said thank you in his entire life. I think he is stressed because my mum is now visiting me once a month instead of looking after him 24/7. I will just leave him be and be cordial to him for my mum’s sake.
Any plans for the weekend?
I agree with you. I don’t think my dad likes this sudden change and had already told me that he will never visit me again as he finds the whole thing tiring and breaks his routine.
Hi Stella
Glad you had a nice time with your mum and Craig.
Sorry to hear about your dad's attitude towards you regarding your cancer.
That's not how a parent should react really.
Everyone is different, sorry to say, and you are getting on fine, with or without his acceptance.
I was diagnosed, and my daughter as there for me, then her dad got diagnosed and she was there for him, then she was diagnosed in was there for her, every step of the way, her dad would have been, though he was not give the chance.
You have got this far and you are doing well
Hi Ellie
I am very grateful to have Craig and my mum supporting me. I am sad that I am causing them so much distress and sadness. Also I may not be there to look after them when they needed it. I am really trying to create some happy time for everyone.
Did you have turkey for Christmas meal? We made one from BBC good food recipe and it was really lovely. X
Hi Stella, thank you, it's been a little hectic at times, but lovely and all the grandkids are doing well, though like us all eating too much, but naming my favourite meal, that's a tough one Stella, I could maybe give a top 10 but just 1 is difficult, I do love homemade soups and tomato's, so spicy tomato soup, but ask me next week and it will be something else.
Your turn Stella, name your favourite meal, it must be something you can make for yourself, and what are you hoping to do for the weekend?.
I'm out tomorrow with my 2 eldest daughters to a lovely pub recommended by a friend, Sunday is farm day family dinner. Monday, 2 scans, Gastro, visiting a friend in hospice and lunch with friends.
Eddie xx
I did not cook, went to my son's he was the cook.
He did ask what I would like, I said surprise me, lol, we had Lam and Beef, I was happy, lamb is my favourite.
Glad you enjoyed what you had, and from the BBC good food recipe, you will be trying some thing else another time.
Hi Eddie
I am not a great cook just following recipes. I enjoy making beef short ribs and also some curries. Craig loves cooking especially smoked BBQ dishes for the summer. I like try to make different dishes and taste different food.
I have to go to the oncology day unit today due to persistent stomach cramps. They got me some medicine for it and hopefully it will work.
I have got an air dry clay set as present so started to make an incense holder.
Otherwise just a relaxing weekend x
Hi Stella, so sorry to hear about your stomach cramps, and I hope your new meds sort them out soon for you, Oh that's great you and Craig love cooking, and we don't need to be great cooks, enjoying the process and the meal are what matters, and there always better than meals you buy, mostly. I love curries too, my favourite is egg and apple, unbelievably simple but lovely in summer, but I guess your curries are a little more sophisticated, and sorry Stella, I don't know what an air dry clay set is, sounds very therapeutic though, which is good, and I hope we get to see the incense burner when it's finished, enjoy your chilling this weekend my friend.
Eddie xx
