Last November Nice brought in that people with Lung Cancer, was to have an MRI Scan, no problem thinks me.
Had my first one and results showed a blip, my Oncologist did no what this blip was, so referred to big Hospital in London. Scans every few month.
On the May Scan a slight growths i was told wait for another scan in August, which i did.
Came back another slight ,this was September the 13th, and then told its not come from the lungs, its a new primary brain tumour.
I could not believe what they where saying.
Its near the optic nerve and if we do nothing you will go totally blind.
I agreed to the operation, which i had it on the 30th September, it was over five hours long.
I have to say woke up like nothing had occurred, not even any pain.
I came home on the second of October, then realised i had lost sight on my right side, they said this may happen.
I could be confused for a while and i have been. could not even turn washing machine on or tv forgot how to do it, but today that has become easier. Thank
has started to get better, thank goodness, i was getting so frustrated.
Today i was back at the big hospital in London.
They got the whole tumour out, and then told its not a New Primary Brain, but infect, had come from the Lungs, the Scans did not show as a lung cancer, it was only when it was out.
So thats me, sorry if spelling mistakes, hard to type.
Otherwise i am doing ok and had a glass of wine tonight i did ask doctor.
Its been a whirl wind, these last last few weeks, i should be back to normal in a few more weeks, do not think i have ever been normal.
My hair has started to grow back
Hi Ellie,
Well you should be in bed by now, resting but I am pleased you felt up to posting! Great they got it all! Do they think the sight loss in your ‘good’ eye is temporary, just like the confusion etc? It must have been scary not remembering how to turn on household things but great it is sorted now.
I would advise taking things easy for a while to allow your body to heal. To be honest, I am not very good at taking my own advise, it is so frustrating when you have problems doing every day things!
I hope you are asleep now and have a lovely weekend! Take care! That’s me going to try to sleep now too!
Love Annette x
Hi Ellie. Thank you for sharing what was a very difficult journey for you, like many of your friends on the forum I could tell, understandably this has been a difficult time for you, wonderful news they have removed all the tumour, that's a big relief and why not celebrate with a glass of wine, richly deserved after all you have been through my friend, and to hear you'll be back to "normal " soon has made my week, the forum is not the same without you Ellie, good to hear your hairs growing back again, I guess you won't be my favourite punk rocker for much longer, sad, but I'm such happier having our good friend Ellie back.
love Eddie xx
Hi Ellie, I'm jealous, I started losing my hair 30 years ago and it's NEVER growing back LOL, and if you want to be a punk, why not, but you have to send us a picture, though I think with the cold weather coming a full head of hair sounds best, That's some scar Ellie, I hope it's not caused any problems sleeping, I'm guessing the stitches have been out a while and the scar is good, and hopefully a little time free of appointments to rest and recuperate and catch up with your friends on the forum, always onwards and upwards my friend, be good and take care.
love Eddie xx
Stiches not caused any problems, I have not even had a a pain killer, no sentence no feeling, springs to mind
When the Doctor came to see me after op, he said all out in one go, i asked how big was it.
He replied as big as a walnut, so yesterday i asked, did the walnut have the shell on or off, as people did ask me.
Also makes a difference with the size, it was of, he did laugh, i did as well, i do like a joke, got to see the funny side of things.
Also have titanite , like some thing different lol.
HI Ellie, so true you have to laugh, good to hear the stitches never bothered you, not even painful, that's fab, are you going to tell s how big it was, shell on or shell off, it's big either way, and you have a metal plate in your skull as well, Sounds like you had a good team looking after you through surgery. how much time have you before your next appointment at the big hospital in London. Well Ellie, I'm on holiday and my girls have gone out without me, just fancied a night in, I'm getting old LOL.
love Eddie xx
