Last November Nice brought in that people with Lung Cancer, was to have an MRI Scan, no problem thinks me.
Had my first one and results showed a blip, my Oncologist did no what this blip was, so referred to big Hospital in London. Scans every few month.
On the May Scan a slight growths i was told wait for another scan in August, which i did.
Came back another slight ,this was September the 13th, and then told its not come from the lungs, its a new primary brain tumour.
I could not believe what they where saying.
Its near the optic nerve and if we do nothing you will go totally blind.
I agreed to the operation, which i had it on the 30th September, it was over five hours long.
I have to say woke up like nothing had occurred, not even any pain.
I came home on the second of October, then realised i had lost sight on my right side, they said this may happen.
I could be confused for a while and i have been. could not even turn washing machine on or tv forgot how to do it, but today that has become easier. Thank
has started to get better, thank goodness, i was getting so frustrated.
Today i was back at the big hospital in London.
They got the whole tumour out, and then told its not a New Primary Brain, but infect, had come from the Lungs, the Scans did not show as a lung cancer, it was only when it was out.
So thats me, sorry if spelling mistakes, hard to type.
Otherwise i am doing ok and had a glass of wine tonight i did ask doctor.
Its been a whirl wind, these last last few weeks, i should be back to normal in a few more weeks, do not think i have ever been normal.
My hair has started to grow back
It's great when you have complete trust in your doctor and they tell you everything, how does it affect you Ellie, when your head goes numb, does it impact sleeping or eating or is it just a weird feeling, really glad to hear it's easing, better late than never, That's me Ellie all on my own, apart from Poppy, she didn't want to go out either, what a pair we are, we're hoping the girls will bring us some supper.
Eddie xx
Hi Thanks Annett, I had to try, took me ages to try and do it, though I did my best.
The loss of the sight is permanent sorry to say.
The Tumour was close to the optic nerve it happens, though still hard to except.
If it was not for that I would be more my old self, hopefully get cataract done in bad eye, and things, will be a lot better. Trying to see, is wearing me down, and yes frustrated with what ever I try to do..
Hope you and your are all good.
Ellie I am sorry to hear the eyesight is lost in one eye, it will take you time to adjust, and I am sure once the cataract is done in the other eye you will manage much better. You have had a rough time of it in the past year with a lot of uncertainties, but looking back now I guess it was a good thing you had that mri last November. It is so good to hear the walnut has gone for good, but please remember you have had major surgery and it is early days still, give yourself time to recover from this, be easy on yourself, but enjoy that wine!!
Sending hugs xx
