Hi I have been receiving bevicazumah (excuse spelling) for a few months every three weeks. Recently I keep having too much protein in my urine and two weeks ago the same again although my bp was far too high so i wasn’t allowed treatment. This week I’m doing another 24 hour urine specimen today and first thing in morning on Tuesday I have a ct scan, blood tests on Wednesday a face to face appointment with my consultant on Thursday and they will decide if I can have treatment on Friday or if they have to look at other treatment options for men if there is any. Has anyone else found their self in same situation? I am terrified incase this is the end of treatment and I’m trying to put a brave face on for my kids but I have no one else to talk to about this thanks if you’ve managed to read this far and would be greatful to hear from anyone else going through similar
Eddie you don’t seem to get a break. I have nurses today to clean my picc line and change dressing, fortunate they come to the house as I have a fracture on my back due to osteoporosis I picked up on the road lol then i will try do as much housework as I can.
have a lovely day Karen xx

Hi Karen
I have been going through a bad patch, with abdo pain, and back pain in the past 10 days or so. I'm beginning to feel a bit better, and have a physio appointment this morning so I hope to get some relief!
I am being referred for a bone density scan, so maybe osteoporosis is the culprit for me too. A loss of bone density showed up on my most recent CT scan, done 4 weeks ago.
Annette's suggestion of a meet up in Glasgow is an interesting idea! Now that the trains are running again from Stranraer, it is a possibility for me to come up to Glasgow. I used to have weekends there, before Covid happened.
Hope Thursday's meeting goes well, and you can go back onto treatment again.
XXX Kate
Thanks very much Kate. They were sending physio on to me for a while giving me exercises to do and I would end up in more pain when they left. It was a ct scan that picked up the fracture, I’m on meds for the pain the pain doesn’t seem to be getting better as the other side of my back is torture and trying to get out of bed in the morning is something else but once I’ve taken my meds the pain eases for me then I have breakthrough meds for during the day. I also had the bone density done that’s what confirmed I had osteoporosis. Yeah the meet up does sound great I could try get one of my kids to drop me at the fort or even get a taxi if pain isn’t too bad as they all work and my youngest is off to South Africa in two weeks to compete in the commonwealth championships yous may have seen her on stv news just over a week ago. Hope you have a lovely day Kate and I will update tomorrow Karen xx

Morning Teresa. I have just had 7 weeks free of hospitals and managed a few breaks which were wonderful, I have my eldest daughter and her kids to concentrate on now for a little time.4 appointments today, one is on the phone, easier Thu + Fri and only 1 appointment Sat and Sun off, good to hear the nurses come to you for your PICC, makes such a difference, I have a double wedge compression fracture and 3 damaged discs which are still a big problem, due to being mis-diagnosed, we have a couple of Op's coming up which hopefully go well so can visit my aunt in Fort William before Christmas, I pass through Glasgow so if Annette and you don't mind a Yorkshire man joining your meet up, I would love to, PS was born in Oban. hear it's warm in Glasgow, hop you get to enjoy it,

Hi anndanv That is amazing really , Years ago they would probably have told most of us just to go home and enjoy the time we have left. I went to my cardio appointment on Friday and saw the lovely person who probably helped save my life. Reason being I sent a random email to another hospital because I was not being treated at all and in her words I had been left on the shelf but she sorted me out for major surgery. If my heart wasn't right they wouldn't even operate. Well she said my heart was looking really good and then started asking me how I was etc with the cancer and that I had been through the wars etc , Which made me very emotional all of a sudden. Suppose it didn't help having 3 trainees there but what the hell they will learn something hopefully. But she mentioned seeing a clinical physchologist which she said would help . I have had loads of private counselling already but am seeing the physchologist tomorrow. As she pointed out we go through all the physical things and dont do things for our mind , I am defo in need of help and looking forward to tomorrow. All the Best Minmax
Hi everyone sorry I’ve been absent for a while. I’ve been given a prognosis of one year that was Thursday past. I’ve not yet quite got my head around this but each day seems a little easier. I’m back for face to face in two weeks with consultant so just patiently waiting to see what she has to say. I just didn’t want to come across as ignorant with disappearing for a while without explanation. I hope you are all keeping well and keeping up the fight Karen xx

Hi Teresa, it's good to hear from you again, but please don't apologise for not posting, everyone on here disappears at times, for all sorts of reasons. I am so sorry to hear you've been given a prognosis of a year, Teresa, many on here including myself have been given a prognosis, and like them I take very little interest in them, there is guesswork in a prognosis and many, including many on here who are well past the time they were given, there's even one lady given less than a year, 5 years ago who has just been told she's cancer free, trying to live your life with a countdown clock, which is inaccurate hanging over your head is not good for you. I'm happy to hear things are getting a little easier and I hope keeping on fighting, fingers crossed your consultation goes well. Thank you Teresa, my daughters treatment is going well and I've just started a new one, best wishes.
Eddie xx
