  • Hi Ulls, we saw the sign when we were on our way bag to the cottage from Durham and thought it sounded interesting, so I looked it up on my iPad! It turned out it was only 12 mins away by car from where we are staying! It was great. They also had an exhibition of "Wedding Dresses Through the Century" from 1900 up to and including 2000. They ranged from very simple long and short plain dresses costing a guinea in 1900, a stunning all crochet dress which cost £8 in 1970 to the most ornate dresses we have ever seen costing over £2,000 in 2000! The Manor, Churches, Chapels & Gardens were beautiful. Especially the Stained Glass Windows, as was the home baking in the Cafe!

I can't understand why it is not in the Must See places near Durham. Do you know? Only problem was they advertised wheelchair friendly paths but they certainly were not. We ended up leaving the wheelchair with a member of staff and I used my crutches but it was worth it. Have you been?
Good luck tomorrow, I hope everything runs smoothly for you! At least you will get rid of your monitor! Beep beep! You must have sounded like The Roadrunner! lol!

    Love Annette x
