New month, new thread.

Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!

Even having a laugh, that is a normal life, and we all have it.

If you have a special topic please start a new thread so people that wish to see it can, and can comment.

Hope this is to everyone's approval.

Thanks.

  • Hello everyone, noticed all the problems you are having on the forum, as far as i can see, "i am not an expert", this is the only one effected. As i seem to be unaffected even on the incurables thought it might help to tell you, i use Microsoft edge and windows 10 home, Eddie

  • Lots of people, have problems, and some do not. Macmillan no there is a problem, just ha not been sorted yet.

People are staying away because of it, that is not right, should have been done by now.

  • Hi Annette,

I can sign in OK but I've stopped getting any notifications and that acted like a prompt and enabled me to keep up with things even if I couldn't log in and post at the time. I get nothing now. Have also noticed that sometimes I can't reply because there's nothing there and nowhere obvious to click to get the box to appear. These tech issues are certainly vexing. What happened to the old maxim, 'If it ain't broke don't fix it'.

Anyway, enjoy your new car. Is it nice and comfy? I've got a Nissan Qashqai and it's the best car I've ever had.

  • I'm on W10 but use Chrome. Should that make a difference? Rainie x

  • I am on loads of tablets and it doesn't enhance anything X  Chemo next week

  • Hi Rainie i am not the person to ask, though as we both use windows 10 it maybe more than a coincidence, i know there were teething problems on other forums when the update first came online but the LWIC forum has been having the most problems, I'm know they are doing their best to fix it as they know how important the forum is to us all,

    Eddie

  • Hi Ellie, It's awful that people can't use our forum as we know how important the support, advice and friendship we share means to us all, and i know Macmillan know this too and have been told by community champions that fixing the forum is a priority, take care.

    Eddie

  • Well  so much for doing their best, a month is far to long, when they know people need the site as such.

  • I agree with you 100% Ellie, i was wondering if anyone has heard anything about Judy,

    Eddie

  • Hi all,

    Me again. Slight smile

I'm sorry to see that members of this thread seem to be the most significantly affected. We have looked at average activity numbers across the site, and as far as we can tell there is not a massive fall-off after the update, although of course there are dips here and there. There has also not been an increase in reports forwarded onto us from any of the various contact methods people can use to reach Macmillan. That said, we do recognise that there are issues affecting the Online Community site, and I promise you we have been diligently recording them and passing them on to our developers to look at.

I know it is very frustrating - we are frustrated too. While the pace of change is entirely out of our hands, I do believe that the issues we have all been encountering are being worked upon as quickly as workloads allow. We all know how important accessing this Online Community is, and want to assure you this is not being ignored or delayed because of a lack of will. I hope you'll continue to bear with us while we work with our developers to get things fixed.

I just want to thank the 3 people from this thread who have taken the time to email us with screenshots and a description of what is happening for them. This is very helpful as it allows us to gather reports directly from people affected, and it gives us the opportunity to try and make individual suggestions on possible temporary workarounds.

If you haven't sent us an email detailing your technical problem yet (preferably with screenshots), I'd encourage you to do so. It really helps.

In the meantime, please continue to support one another as you have been. We'll be sure to give you another update as soon as we hear anything new.

    All the best,
    Matthew
