Here by special request, the latest in the Lovely Morning series.

  • HI Morton & everyone. Did you manage to go for a walk yesterday M? I'd love to be able to go a walk but after 10 minutes or so, I have to stop and sit down for a while, so I don't get very far which is so frustrating when I used to walk for miles on a regular basis!

The light is coming through the top of our blackout curtains, has been for about 30 mins or so.

I'm wondering if anyone else is awake yet! I've not yet had any sleep. I was on here earlier, did some jigsaws, finished one book on my Kindle and started another, been downstairs had a cuppa etc then came back to bed hoping to sleep! Wouldn't that have been good!

My husband, who if you remember has sciatica, has been given painkillers from the GP. He has taken 2 co-codamol and has slept for a solid 8 & a bit hours without moving a muscle, is still asleep. The GP gave him diazepam and Amitryptaline to take if needed. So far he hasn't need any! I have two slow release patches (15mg + 20mg), have also had paracetamol plus 15mls Oramorph and haven't closed my eyes due to nerve pain. When I try to sleep, my leg,hip & back go into overdrive and I just can't settle. Can you tell, I'm fed up??

Wondered if anyone was awake to tell me what lovely things they are going to do today, to cheer me up. Sorry for the rant but I've had enough!!

  • Hi Annette I think we will need to find some storage for quite a bit of “stuff” we have.  We have come down from 4 bedrooms, double Garage style to a flat with 2 bedrooms lol.  Still it is only “stuff” and it’s the feeling of home that’s important.  That take a wee bit of time but getting there with it I feel.

  • Morning Annette

Do not want to tell you i have just come down downstairs, bed at 11.30pm up twice, and that was it, To be honest i could have slept more,

Sorry you have trouble sleeping, not sure what the answer is, i know years ago  I could not sleep, and Tom used to say i know what the best sleeping tablet is , i cannot repeat it hear did not always work, though some times it did.

I know your mind is boggling now, not hard to work out, xx

  • Hi That is a big down size, but in the end will be worth it i am sure. Not so much work involved and as we get older things take longer to do. Well does for me, even getting out of chair, though picking up a glass is still easy. xx

  • Morning Annette and everyone else.  I did manage a wee walk yesterday and it was a lovely day.  I got into trouble for overdoing it as my legs were cramping all afternoon and evening!  Sounds like your poor husband is zonked but not you unfortunately.  The disruption to sleep is the worst to cope with so you rant away.  It will be me soon, I have my spells of awful sleep then I seem to catch up somewhat.  It’s ok to not be ok I think, sometimes it’s hard keeping up the OK front.   I am out at GP this morning for some bloods then a wee trip to the post office.  Exciting stuff lol. Hope you have a relaxing day.

    Take care

    M

  • I can't believe it informing the group of you bedtime behaviour, it just goes to show how hard we men work to keep you girls happy.

  • Hi Morton, Good morning to you. Wow that is a big downsize. As you say it's only stuff. My mum used to say if you haven't worn it or used it for 6 months, then get rid of it! I am afraid since getting married, I've not quite made that yet but I'm trying to make a start. Here we have several internet sites Facebook run like Trash to Treasure where people put on anything after taking a photo. Then they either ask for Barter (Cagburys Chocolate is a favourite) or put NBN as in no barter needed. People interested send a comment or question like 'how many bars or what size of chocolate, the person answers and if someone is interested they send a private message through Messenger to arrange pick up drop of. Or Freeshare if they want rid of things and that is a first come first served basis! Do you have anything like that where you are? Charity shops will take most things too. Good luck with it all.

I hope you get good results from your GP after your bloods are done!

  • Oh yes I can still manage to pick up a wee glass too :)

  • Oh Ulls, You have got to be joking! The only thing my husband is working hard at is sleeping! That's been almost two weeks now. I make the dinner, then waken him, so he can eat it! Then he goes back to sleep in his favourite reclining chair while I fill the dishwasher! When does the looking after come in???

However if that's the wee story you want to stick to, I won't burst your bubble!
