Here by special request, the latest in the Lovely Morning series.

  • Hi all, final appointment of the day is done, PSA has slight rise, blood pressure slight drop.

But for me some poor news, The dispensation of my tablets has been removed from the out reach unit, which is a 5 minuet walk for me, to our city hospital which is 7 Miles away, been told to go to reception and ask for a nurse, the out reach unit do not know where in the hospital she will be working, Parking is horrendous takes around 20 minutes to find a spot probable just go by bus, as i have the acupuncture on the same day, and they wonder why I have raised blood pressure

  • Why are they now moving to city hospital then, did you ask

  • You know what. do they realise that all these different appointments are very time consuming, and not always easy to get there.

Talk about stress, and yes high blood pressure.

  • The nurses at the walkin unit are as much in the dark as everyone else, even the Royal pharmacy did not know there had been a change. and they send the medication to the outreach unit

  • Oh Ulls it's so maddening when that happens.  My blood pressure is always hight at the doctors, white coat syndrome. Hope you get your meds without any more messing about. Take care xx

    Moi

  • Ill be wearing a mask on the bus, cant take the risk of infection, going home will be the worst the bus in normally full, and no chance of a seat.

  • Hi, Has anyone explained why things have changed? Maybe they could post your meds to you or do they have to check bloods etc before they issue them. At least if you are getting acupuncture at the same place, you are not going Just for meds.

    Love Annette x

  • Yes it's nessesary for bloods to be taken, that's how they can measure the PSA.

if PSA rises slowly it's not much of a problem, but it can rise quickly and that's a danger sign and means the cancer is growing and treatment has stopped working.

  • sorry about the slight PSA rise.  That is super annoying about the move from outreach to main hospital.  I am sure this will be a cost saving or staffing issue, but you shoud not be inconvenienced in this way.  We have no outreach here and it’s a 30 mile 2 train journey for me to be assessed for meds.  I don’t see why they couldn’t do this in local hospital, 5 miles away.  I believe they they did in the past but it was stopped.  This was before my entry to this journey.  Aside from that I hope you are ok and good that Bp was down,

  • Hi still raining and i mean raining been like it all day, you had a good day i hope.
