Hi Ulls, We always have far too many apples than we can use. Make pies but can only cram so many into freezer. Also blocks of puree for sauce. Neither of us like cider so no point. Made a thing years ago called Cider Ale, which stunk the place out and exploded all over the shed. Tasted foul too, so not bothered since, especially as I can't tolerate much of anything that's fizzy. Also, harvest time is an exhasting business and I can't raise the energy anymore to do what I once did: which, back in the day, was a self-sufficient life and it was hard work. If you lived nearer, I'd give them to you. Rainie x
Hi Ulls, Sorry I don't know. I got a notification you had posted in THIS Thread but when I clicked to view online, it just said "post deleted" so I never got to read it.
I suppose it could have been one they were 'looking' at just at that time, but then changed their mind and posted it. Who knows!

Rainie, Regarding your excess of apples! You could put a note in a local Free Paper that if they come to harvest them, they can have some free of charge, or barter for something you need. There's a website called "free share" seems to be all over the country where people who are giving something away....like apples, let people know what they would like in their place, like chocolate, croissants etc as long as no money changes hands!

On the subject of apples, we have one apple tree and sell ours to a local fruit winery. We usually get £5 to spend in the shop which doesn't even buy a bottle of cider but it's the trip out (cafe on site also), knowing we are contributing to the circular economy and feel good factor for us. Also, now I am struggling to eat cakes and buscuits I have substituted them for apple crumble and ice cream. I have made loads!
Hi Annette,
thank you for replying about the stairlift. We have stairs that are 8 stairs then a flat area that turns and does another 6 stairs.
i expect I would have to buy one and have it made.
at the moment I go up using my oxygen last thing at night. I can manage twice in the day time xxx
