Hi everyone, tomorrow Mrs Tvman and I leave idyllic County Down and travel to Belfast for the Liverpool boat that docks in Birkenhead (weird). We're taking the car for the first time ever because we didn't want our flights cancelled or trains delayed or cancelled.
A couple of days in Chester and then on to Northborough, just outside Peterborough to visit my daughter, son in law and grandchildren Harry (6) and Lucy (1). Can't wait to see them all, haven't seen them since May. We used to go every month until the pandemic started and then it wasn't possible for me to travel.
I'll drop in now and again while I'm there just to see if you're all behaving yourselves, especially you Ulls
Take care and stay safe everyone
Tvman xx
PS does anyone know what we could do in Chester on Friday? Not the zoo, my motorised scooter wouldn't manage the distances!
Hi Tvman I hope you have a lovely time and enjoy the visit with your daughter and grandchildren. It must be so difficult not being able to see them regularly. I hope you can manage to visit with them for as long as you like without having to get back for appointments etc!
It is great just getting away from the normal routine. I will look forward to photos of Harry & Lucy once you are back. It is amazing how much they grow and change just in a couple of months. Taking the car was a good idea and the less stressful option! Have a great time!
Love Annette x
Thank you Annette, I'll definitely send you some photos, probably to your email address. I'm really looking forward to seeing my daughter's family although we are in contact nearly every day. You're so lucky having yours on your doorstep. We're moving forward now and it's certainly less stressful than a flight. We were directed to go in front of everyone because of my blue badge. I'll be leaving my son in charge of my greenhouse and veg plot. Hope all is looked after and he waters the greenhouse every day. Speak soon Annette xx
Hi tvman hope the crossing is a good one. It will be lovely to see your family. Mine arrive from Ibiza this afternoon, (flight been delayed). Chester is loverly, there is the Cathedral, very old and interesting. Also the City Wall Which goes round Chester nice views, think it was built by the Romans or to keep the Romans out, don't no about disability access, but think it should have as it's a tourist attraction. Plenty of shops, and restaurants. Haven't been there since the lock downs. I hope you and Mrs. Tvman have a lovely holiday with your family xx

I have not been on a ferry since late 70s, TT race on isle of man. The crossing was fun, the ferry was going up and down, and rolling from side to side at the same time, the swell had to be around 12 feet, I was sat in the bar with a bottle of beer, just me and the steward, the que for the toilets was too long people were puking all over the place, not in the bar thank god.
