Hi. I know people have talked about this before, but I can’t find the threads I need.
If I want to go abroad, do I need to prove my illness with doctors letters etc, not that I’d lie about having cancer, to get my premiums up Joy, but how does it work?

Thank you

    Hi jane

    https://www.macmillan.org.uk/cancer-information-and-support/impacts-of-cancer/travel/buying-travel-insurance

    This link maybe helpful.

Not to.disuade you, but i looked into it, as i wanted to visit Paris one more time. In the.end i decided not to as i was concerned about repatriation and pandemic. Ive got fond memories as a.young man. of My travels. Instead ive done a little traval, around Hampshire amd Dorset...just as nice.  Best travels if you decide to.

  • There's a macmillan travel insurance group.  It's under "Cancer Experiences".  People are finding a company called  InsureWith are offering reasonable premiums.

Yes you might be right, still lots of lovely places here. I love Dorset , Weymouth, etc too. I live in Hampshire .
I just don’t want to feel I can’t go abroad ever again.

  • I think phone calls are better Jane. It’s easier to explain your condition, the websites don’t give you enough options sometimes x

I went to Caribbean in March this year.  Most insurance companies wouldn’t even give me a quote.  Used GoodtoGo who gave me one of around £1,300 but cheaper than another one that wanted to charge me over £3:000!  My advice is to shop around.  Took me a whole day to sort insurance out.  No I didn’t need to provide any proof about my cancer.  Only one insurer I didn’t go ahead with wanted a report I hadn’t got.
