Ok had scan last night. Just had a meeting with the consultant and the news isn’t great. There is progression in the tumour at T5 & T6 vertebrae and new progression possibly at T10 vertebrae and new progression at T11 T12 L1 L2 L3 & L4. Plan going forward is radio therapy followed by a new stronger drug regime which will have stronger side effects.

I’ve had better days to be fair.

Bit shit, no denying that but at least something can and is going to be done. If best wishes are going to help, you will be getting lorryloads. Here's mine.

  • Your right, not the news you wanted to hear, though something is going to be done, that is the main thing.

  • That's pants.  Good job it didn't mess up your holiday.

  • Richard I am so very sorry to read this.  A stark reminder of how quickly things can change. Let’s get this radiotherapy started as soon as possible, get things back under control again for you.

You brought us sunshine, I wish I could give you some back to make you feel brighter. Sending a hug xx

That is definitely a bit shit, to quote Ted. Hope new plan works. Life is a roller coaster isnt it - nice holiday and returning with sunshine for us, and then some bloody rain clouds. Fingers crossed radio and new regime keeps you going and comfortable.

    xx

  • Oh NO...sounds bad. I hope RT will help...not much else to say...so sorry

  • Aw Richard , not the news you wanted to hear, hope the RT goes well and you have minimal side effects. At least you had the scan results very quickly and you weren't left agonising for a week or two.

Take care my friend, sending hugs.

  • Sorry to hear this,  it is tough to get news like this. Life goes on and I have known people who have had radiotherapy to the spine that it has helped a lot.

do you get back pain ?
