I think if I had gas heating I may not have changed but where I live there's no sign of piped gas coming here. But then again if I had gas heating I would have to live in a town which really wouldn't be for me. One thing springs to mind is that I wouldn't be able to have a wee in the garden at any time!

I feel like I'm helping to save the planet by using very little fossil fuels and my trees are the lungs of the countryside.

We love our wood burner stove. My husband deals with the ash and cleans the glass.

a tip is to use newspaper damp dipped in the ashes and it creates a chemical reaction and cleans the glass beautifully xx

I use s chemical cleaner made by HG and I leave it in on for 5 minutes then use a damp cloth to take it off and finally take newspaper to polish the glass. 

I like the sound of using newspaper with ash so I'll give it a try next time. Looking forward to trying it.
