Hi all. I've been having pain in my liver the last week or two. I know I have mets in my liver and have been put on letrazole and ribociclib to try and regain control. The thing is I'm getting more pain even though I have been on these drugs 3 months now. Any one else had the same effects and does this mean its not working?

Finding it difficult to concentrate on anything else at the moment, as the pain is sharp and then goes again and I find myself waiting for the next one so I'm prepared for it., bit it still makes me jump. It's like a stabby pain.

I hope the rest of you are all OK.

  • Yay!!! I bloomin hope so. Pray Blush

  • Hi, I was on Dabrafenib for over 3 years but I just had a problem with extra skin on my feet, no hand problems at all. I went to a Specialist Podiatrist my Oncologist found. I went every second week and she would scrape away the excess skin. It felt like I was walking on pebbles and grew so quickly even the Podiatrist was surprised. I had it for over a year after I stopped the drug and now, just every now and then, it flares up again. I phone and the podiatrist sees me quickly, it certainly makes a difference. I've tried numerous creams and gels and they work for a while. You just have to keep trying until you find something that works. Good luck!

  • My CT showed growth in all my mets lung and liver

I have been looking at vaccines but don’t seem to be able to access one for my mutation. It is possible to make a personalised vaccine from your biopsy.

However I have a mutation SF3B1and there is now a drug licensed in the uk for this mutation it is a subcutaneous injection of  reblozl used for anaemia every 3 weeks

I hope my oncologist will let me have this. It would be good to have some hope for a treatment that works xx

  • That sounds hopeful Ruth. Will you be able to see your oncologist soon and get a decision? Hugs.  Rainie x
