Immunotherapy halted half way through

Hello all,

I had my 2 monthly scan on Saturday and went for my review today. Sadly I'm out of the "stable mable" group for now. I have my last immunotherapy tomorrow as my tumours have grown. Not the news I wanted to hear. They have said I can have radiotherapy to my chest and right lower lung and it won't be as harsh as my previous radiotherapy to my throat. I will have pain swallowing, which is really worrying as I've gone under 50kg and have difficulties with swallowing as it is.

I'm due for surgery on 25th which I've been waiting for over a year because of Covid! This will be to make a new airway so I'll be able to breath through my nose, taste and smell again. I was so looking forward to this but the news today has put a real dampener on that now. I'm trying to stay positive as the consultant has said if the radiotherapy works there might be a chance of resuming treatment.

Has this happened to any others on here? Did your immunotherapy start again?

I am gutted to hear this news little-fi.

I have no knowledge of immunotherapy but the possibility of future treatment for you does provide some hope.

Hi Little-fi, This is news we don't want to hear but I hope the surgery and radiotherapy will make a difference and you will be able to resume your treatment. Sorry, I have not had immunotherapy but I'm confident those who have experience will post soon with some positive news for you!

Yes, it is good you are staying positive because it sounds like your oncologist is. I don't think your consultant would have mentioned possible going back on treatment if there wasn't a good chance this could happen! I will be thinking of you. Sending a (((hug)))

Thoughts are with you. Im like you. It doesn't mean i give up. Far from it, im just trying to take each day, enjoy it and leave the crap pain benind.Take care

I’ve just been reading your profile. Dear God, how on earth have you coped with everything…..you sound a remarkable woman . How do you deal with the anxiety of it all.

The pain we can't get away from Tony, I hate the saying "It is what it is" but find myself saying it more and more!
