Hi everyone
Shiver me timbers, cockle me whatevers, had a letter yesterday from the cancer unit at the Ulster hospital that I attend and what a nice surprise (I think). As from this Monday 27th September, ALL appointments forthwith will be at the newly built cancer block.
So that's an end to telephone consultations, yay!(I think). I've to go to my local surgery for bloods this Monday 27th and I have an appointment in said cancer unit next Friday the 1st October. It'll be good to return to face to face appointments again and meet my nursing friends that have been with me on my journey since March 2015.
This Monday 27th will be our 42nd wedding anniversary
Take care and stay safe everyone
Tvman xx
Hi TV man that is really good to hear, definitely a step in the right direction. My next Oncology appointment is still a telephone consultation. I don't like them at all, I am not comfortable talking on the phone, and really feel disconnected from my team.
Happy anniversary for tomorrow xx
Sounds like a real step forward. I’m lucky enough to be in the catchment area for Western Park cancer hospital in Sheffield. They are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. Having been stable for a while now I am on telephone consultations with the specialist nurse rather than the consultant. However if I have any concerns at all I can contact them and they will make an appointment for me to see the consultant.
