Art for art's sake

I was wondering if anyone feels they might benefit from being part of an art group specifically for those here. I'm an artist, though I have to admit to you that I've produced absolutely nothing for ages due to being ill and in hospital, not having anywhere to exhibit for aeons and generally being extremely knackered out most of the time. But then I started thinking maybe I could do something positive about it. I've worked within what's called the 'Arts in Health' sphere and done a lot with things like colour therapy. I'd also like to say that you don't have to be rich to make art. I've done a whole exhibition made from recycled materials. It's all about taking yourself to another place for a while and having a bit of messy fun. No judgemental rubbish or anything like that. And if you don't think you're able to draw anything that looks remotely like what it's supposed to look like, well, that doesn't matter either. I think that maybe for starters you might like to message me if you are interested and then I'll try and work out a little programme. Just for us. Let me know what you think. Rainy X

This has taken me hours to put on here.. Took this today. You can see why we have to move. That is one third of the garden and is like Everest further down. Can't put a self portrait on here, ladies like Ruth will be propositioning me. Mind you I do like bossy ladies with a penchant for art. Xxx

Gold star, silver star, E for effort or not worth commenting on?

  • Wow!  Norberry, I would give you a Gold star. Stunning garden/park Stuck out tongue winking eye Do you look after it yourself? I do see why you need to move and also see the loving care and hard work that's gone on to get it looking that way!  I live in a flat and have always wanted a garden but it would end up being down to me to look after it!

    Well done you.

Kind of you to say so little-fi. 14 years of work with my best friends son doing the tree cutting and stuff like that.

I can't even walk up the garden without puffing now. Wife has MS so we are both worn out!

Got a pond at the top and a pond at the bottom with a bridge over it. It also doglegs  to the right at the bottom so really big.. When I used to keep it perfect it did look good sorry to leave really.

Rainieday insisted I put something on the forum, best I could do,  xxxxx

  • I can imagine you feeling sad to leave it but hopefully the new owners will put as much love into it as you have. Something more manageable is the way forward for you and Mrs Norbs now. Have you found a buyer? apologies if you've already said but I haven't seen all the posts. x

Sold in in the first week in early May. We are buying a new build, meant to have been ready in June.

Just had to pay our buyers a fortune in compensation for loss of stamp duty savings, storage, renting  and whatever else they could think of! to stay in here until October and then move out, new house ready of not as they have sold and are in rented.!

It is only worth all this trouble because it is new, small flat garden and a lot closer to my family for when my time runs out!

If I moan any more you will never reply to my posts again!

  • Yes it is a lot of work to look after all the trees etc.

you have had so many problems moving and new builds always take longer than they say.

you will be pleased when it eventually happens x

  • My sister lives inFlorida and has sold her house after her husband died and is lucky to be able to stay at her daughter’s house waiting for the new build to be ready in October.

her daughter has moved in with her boyfriend so my sister had the house to herself. Not any people are that lucky to save all the hassle x

If it does happen we will forget the troubles we have had. Won't be able to celebrate out though, spent all our money. Just had our 45th wedding anniversary in Pizza Express! If my wife was able to fly we would  have a Floridian holiday with your sister!

  • Sorry you have spent all your money.

lovely to celebrate your 45th anniversary. We have our 49th anniversary next year

there are always things to celebrate x
