I was wondering if anyone feels they might benefit from being part of an art group specifically for those here. I'm an artist, though I have to admit to you that I've produced absolutely nothing for ages due to being ill and in hospital, not having anywhere to exhibit for aeons and generally being extremely knackered out most of the time. But then I started thinking maybe I could do something positive about it. I've worked within what's called the 'Arts in Health' sphere and done a lot with things like colour therapy. I'd also like to say that you don't have to be rich to make art. I've done a whole exhibition made from recycled materials. It's all about taking yourself to another place for a while and having a bit of messy fun. No judgemental rubbish or anything like that. And if you don't think you're able to draw anything that looks remotely like what it's supposed to look like, well, that doesn't matter either. I think that maybe for starters you might like to message me if you are interested and then I'll try and work out a little programme. Just for us. Let me know what you think. Rainy X
We went on holiday here a few years ago and also visited on our honeymoon. The two visits were so different, Gloucester had changed from a fishing town (very smelly) to mainly tourist in 20 years. We had a lovely week here though and also spent time in Boston and New York. Wonderful memories.

Hi Ruby, I love the seaside. I love seeing it in all seasons but particularly when the waves crash on the rocks and shore, the sound is amazing! I don't really think I'm on holiday if I am not by the sea.
I even have a set of mugs from the Dunoon pottery I've had for years and every one is a seaside picture with boats, a lighthouse, a harbour etc etc everyone admires them!
Great photo!

The Perfect Storm? Not sure about that Cat but maybe! It’s probably got something to do with the fishing industry leaving the area, not sure why that happened. It did make it a more pleasant holiday destination though , the town was lovely and we got to see the humpbacked whales for a second time. We also went to the beach featured in Little Women. Beautiful beach! But we did notice what a divide there is. The Little Women beach was £30 to park at so not accessible for all. On Gloucester beach we heard some people being derogatory about a Mexican family near them on the beach. We were all so shocked and this was before Trump!

Hello Annette, thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm for all things ‘beach/seaside’ - we are definitely kindred spirits! I absolutely love the sound of waves crashing - my recent holiday to Tenerife was in Playa de las Americas. Yes it was touristy but as well as swimming in the ocean, I spent hours watching the surfers riding the waves and just listening to the sound of the waves. My other favourite beach (abroad) is ‘Praia da Rocha’ in the Algarve. Closer to home, I love Studland Bay in Dorset and Gwithian/Godrevy in Cornwall.
