Art for art's sake

I was wondering if anyone feels they might benefit from being part of an art group specifically for those here. I'm an artist, though I have to admit to you that I've produced absolutely nothing for ages due to being ill and in hospital, not having anywhere to exhibit for aeons and generally being extremely knackered out most of the time. But then I started thinking maybe I could do something positive about it. I've worked within what's called the 'Arts in Health' sphere and done a lot with things like colour therapy. I'd also like to say that you don't have to be rich to make art. I've done a whole exhibition made from recycled materials. It's all about taking yourself to another place for a while and having a bit of messy fun. No judgemental rubbish or anything like that. And if you don't think you're able to draw anything that looks remotely like what it's supposed to look like, well, that doesn't matter either. I think that maybe for starters you might like to message me if you are interested and then I'll try and work out a little programme. Just for us. Let me know what you think. Rainy X

  • This area of Strangfprd Lough is only 2km from my home. It's very peaceful and very beautiful. Strangfprd Lough is Both an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and an Area of Special Scientific Interest, Strangford Lough is one of the most richly bio-diverse regions in Europe, with over 2,000 marine species spread across 150km². And yet, with all the birds and badgers, seals and starlings, there’s an unmistakable tranquility to this place – so much so that Strangford Lough has drawn artists, aristocracy, saints and even Vikings over the years.

Strangfprd Lough is the largest inlet in Ireland and the British Isles, covering 150 km².

  • . Thank you, whilst I’ve been fortunate there is beauty nearby, be that a local park, green space or wider expanse quite often we take for granted what’s on our own doorstep

  • Hi Ulls. Great colours aren't they? How are you doing?  Will you be on a beach any time soon? Rainie x

  • Hi Rainie, I live just 7 miles from 3 blue flag beaches, the two best are Roker and Seaburn load's of restaurants and pubs with entertainment, we are there most weeks regardless of the weather, both have long and flat walkways, Roker has two marriners and a water sport center, nice to watch the regattas.

    All the best Ulls

  • Lovely Ulls. I love a promenade.  Rainie x
