My OH went back to work on Mon, a week later than planned but we certainly needed that extra week.

My sister was here all day yesterday, we had a jaunt out & I persuaded her to go home & let me have an hour on my own.

I decided to try propelling myself in the light weight wheelchair because my legs had completely given up.
Mission accomplished, I launched myself out of the chair, whacked my head & elbow, right leg buckled underneath me & chair on top.

Couldn’t  get up but got a bit more comfortable & that’s where my OH found me. I had my phone & knew he’d be home very soon so 20 mins later, but in floods of tears & very, very shocked. Morphine & an early night helped, but still feel a bit shocked, battered & bruised. I’ve discovered that part of being independent is knowing your limitations.

What was I thinking of???? Luckily OH was very understanding. Have had a really quiet day with our youngest son who’s been working from here all day Blush xxx

  • Hi Rose, That is great you were thinking along the same lines about writing things down. It really does make a difference. Believe it or not I go to several clinics now, Opthalmology, Dermatology, Orthopaedic & Liver Clinic plus Oncology and I have separate notebooks for them all. When a notebook is full, I number it and keep it when I move on to another one! Just think how many that added up to!!! So get a large notebook, a post it pad won't work!!!

Of course people are listening to you. Here in this Group, some people just like to read the posts, without replying to them and that is fine. However, sometimes when people post here, it is under the heading of someone else's post. Like this one was posted by Tinalay about three weeks ago under "Reality Check Take 2. Maybe it would be an idea to put your next post, maybe after you have spoken to your oncologist on Monday, to write something under your own Titled Post! Or under a new title like "Rosethorns Update" or similar!

I am always listening and will be here for anyone who needs me, I hope! Good luck on Monday!

    Love Annette x
