Hi all

I saw my onc today, which is exactly 8 years since my original diagnosis of non small cell lung cancer. The new growth is around the tumour that has been stable for about 3 years.  Fortunately it is only there and hasn’t gone to any lymph nodes.  The next step is to do a ct guided biopsy to confirm it is the same cancer as before.  If it is I will start on docetoxel.

Silly me didn’t ask how many rounds I will get.  Is there a standard protocol for this treatment?  X

  • Don't know about your treatment, my cancer is a blood cancer which is different but however many rounds you have .I want to wish you all the very best wishes with it

Hello mummyb. Docetoxel is licenced for 6 treatments, thats how many I had and thats my experience of what other people have had.

Hope it goes the best it can. X

  • Hi Mummyb, Do you have a date for your CT biopsy yet?

    Hi Annette.

I was at a very late appointment on Friday so they were unable to book the biopsy.  They said it will be this Thursday if they can squeeze me in, if not, the Thursday after.x

It did exactly what it said on the tin! I did follow it up at a later date with targeted radiotherapy but the chemo saved the day. I do hope you have the same results. X

    Thanks Norberrry
That’s good to know. All the treatments I’ve had so far have worked pretty well for me so I’m hopeful this will too.
How often were you scanned? X
