Now this is likeThe Room but no swearing allowed. You can say what you want and there will be no autodirection to the Naughty Step. SiT sold that off for redevelopment anyway.

I will give an example of the type of thing expected ... I have just eaten three doughnuts and had two cigars, you will know if you wish to post by whether or not you find that interesting or relevant. I do intend to have more doughnuts later.

I think as I approach my prognosis date my posts may well become more disjointed and very hard to make any sense of. I expect forum members to say they have always found this to be the case!

  • cheers, I'm hoping stable Mable is my friend too. I am very open about what I have been through as I feel there is too much stigma about having the big C, people have told me my health is private to me and I should keep quiet about it. I said its nowt to be ashamed of and as its my health I'll tell whoever I want whatever I want.

  • Hi

Can't believe people have said that to you. "Big  C" itself is a phrase best left in the past. I hate all the coyness and keeping things secret that goes on around illness and death. I hope you told those people to f*** off. Swearing is allowed despite what @Norberry says in the initial post. Who made him moderator?Wink

  • Simply told them it’s my life my health and I’ll tell whoever the f*** I want loo

No probs Chelle.  I didn’t think you could search like that but useful to know!!

  • Too right Remoh. What is there to be ashamed of! Something similar happened to me, when I got my lung diagnoses I didn't want to keep on telling people, I just wanted to say it once, then everyone knew. So I put a post on my social media, just saying what had happened and why I was in hospital. The amount of comments I got similar to yours, about it being private. The block button came in very handy then, and the invisible block button in life still comes in handy now.  My frienship group has definitely got smaller, but the friends I have are true friends.

  • So having woken up this morning, which is always better than the alternative the plan for today is to put the new plastic greenhouse back together after the strong winds last night and not too mention peat.

other plans include not mentioning being nosey if you read a bio and generally being a good egg and not saying anything that stirs some up.  I give it till noon at the latest lol

on a serious note the side effects of the COVID jab seem to have gone the sun has come out so I guess I best have a cuppa and get some breakfast

    morning all

  • Chelle and Remoh,

I'm shocked that you received negative comments like that. I haven't posted anything on social media I was going to, but the audience is so wide that I didn't know how to pitch it and wimped out. I've contacted everyone I wanted to tell by email, WhatsApp, phone or a letter with their Christmas card. It has been interesting who has responded and who has not. But certainly no one has said you shouldn't be sharing this.
