I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

Well, I give you 100 for that.

I think the Sisters were there to take the fun out of everything. Bit controversial as I don't know anything about your education.

I went to an all boys grammar, my lazy brain put a stop to future greatness.

  • Thanks,

I went to an all girls convent grammar school, some nuns were more encouraging than Sister Deborah, but I was never destined for greatness, lazy brain here too.

I don't find your posts very amusing. I have been moderated again. Its strange that you have been suggesting that and now its happened? Talking out of school again?

Fairly sure it'll be my turn next...

I still blame you, even if you're not well..

  • Hi @Salis,

It is so sad that we are put off things as children by destructive criticism ( and not always as children ). I think one of the lovely things about Lockdown 1 was the tv show on channel 4 - Grayson's Art Club, which encouraged people to just have a go at any form of art and creativity. Doesnt matter that it is not great art, just that it helps you feel better. We are so often shut down in expressing ourselves be having, or fearing, other people's opinions. Sometimes people just need to butt out. And we need to care less about what others think. One of the good things about aging, and maybe about incurable diagnosis, is that it does lead to a re-evaluation of what matters and a greater ability to ignore the critics.

  • Ha ha, I think I had better keep my talents under wraps in future.

If Mr Grayson was your tutor, you would be exhibiting in the National now. I fact, send him that picture!

Thats a proper teacher, he should be cloned and put in every school.
