I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

I like all those good things Deb1E.

  • Thanks Ruth.    It is good to see family again - I had to tell mine all my bad news over the telephone which was horrible so it was good to see them all today.  Dartmoor is beautiful only ever went there before to visit the prison when I was working in criminal/prison law so nice to see another side.  Dartmoor Prison was closing not sure if it has happened yet. Sad to see all the old prisons closing down although get why - met some interesting characters along the way - .was at Maidstone jail the day Reggie Kray got married - he even had a laser show on the walls of the jail to celebrate...  Now can only work from home and stopping that shortly anyway starting to ramble - getting withdrawal symptoms as you can tell xx  Hope you had a good day with your family, the first of many now we are moving out of lockdown xx

  • Hi Norberry not sure how I managed it but my message was showing twice so I deleted one and it took both!  Will try again probably not as eloquently this time but hope you had a good day and sale moving ahead.  Not sure where you are moving to but apparently a good tip is to look for cobwebs - cobwebs mean unlikely to be bats in the attic! Laughing Even managed to get an emoji in - getting the hang of this now.  x

What is this about women and prisons? My friends wife worked at Send near Guildford and she saw some infamous people in there. She had had enough in the end and is now a Mum with two kids while my chum works every hour there is. Someone's got to do it I suppose. Xxx

  • Hi everyone, I'm still getting better and although in hospital, I still had a lovely father's day and had 3 good things

    1. My son came to the hospital with my wife and although he wasn't allowed in to see me, I went out to see him on the landing and we had a great chat
    2. My daughter rang from Peterborough to wish me a happy father's day and she sent me a lovely photo of my 5 year old grandson and 5 week old granddaughter
    3. My eldest son rang from Aberdeen around 5 minutes later to wish me a happy father's day so we all joined in a video call for 15 minutes which was great. He is my eldest child and she is my youngest. When they were much  younger there was great rivalry between them. I told them then that they would be best of friends later in life and 30 years later it's fantastic to see that prediction came true

Take care everyone and stay safe

    Love life and family.
