I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

    1. I should imagine it was a treat for your Grandson as well. He probably thought he was staying at Liberty Hall, if you know that expression. X
  • Ha @Norberry - my old dog is more canal number 5 than chanel and the thought of 20k of pure fat and muscle on anyones knee Joy!

However lunch was lovely and we had a good catch up and laughed and offered each other support in the trials that is life for everyone, cancer sufferer or not. Ane neither of them ran their fingers along the mantelpiece.

I hope your old dog doesn't read this!

And what a great day with friends.

    A corker for sure. Xx

  • I think she may have read it -  she deteriorated overnight  from breathlessness when stresed, to just constant breathlessness and so this morning was her final journey to the vets. Typical staffie - scoffing treat s to the very end.

I am sad, but it was the right time. House so empty now though. I may have to change my user name now too!

Dilemma will come in a few weeks when I have to decide whether to take on another rescue dog who needs a good home, or remain dogless ( I am kidding myself - I know I may go for another oldie).

  • Sorry, not a good entry under 3 good things - should have started  new thread "one crap thing"

I am so sorry OBS, your dog had a mighty fine time living with you, she could not have done any better. Having treats to the end, what pleasure that must have given both of you.

I know you can never get over these things, another oldie would appreciate your kindness.

I know a sentence means nothing but I do feel for you, We love dogs.

  • So sorry to hear about your dog all my dogs that I have owned have been rescue dogs maybe it's just me but I think they give more love and companionship as they know they are being rescued by you loads of hugs xxx

So sorry  it’s heartbreaking to lose such a loyal friend, you can never really replace them. I miss our dog even if she’s just at the groomer for a couple of hours. Had a laugh at that title for a new thread, 'one crap thing’ it would have had a hammering from here in the last 2 weeks.
    Sending love & hugs xx
