I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

    My three things.

    Got up late, had porridge.

Read all morning then had sardines on toast.

Read all afternoon, just waiting for wifey to do my cornish pasty and beans.

Am I easily satisfied and an easy husband to look after? The only possible answer is yes.

  • Sounds good. Must be a good book

I read and watch Netflix and tv alternately walk the dog every morning. Hope to get on my bike today for a change

we have ordered a delivery as a treat from cote at home of fish pie and creme caramel.

we do eat sardines on toast and pasties frequently x

    3 good things

A beautiful day to start my 20 mile Memory Walk for the Alzheimer's Society. When I signed up for it I was fully independent.

1 My sister came over and we did 8000+ steps in warm sunshine.

2 Sula walked beautifully beside the chair and then had a lift when she started flagging. Don't want to put het off.

3 Had a lovely meal & a glass of wine, ready for a early night. Will need to do this 7 times to reach our target.

    xx

You might not feel as good as you would like but you certainly look it.

I really hope the weather is kind to you both, and Sula, of course, that 20 miles will be some achievement.

Regular updates please, and the occasional picture of Sula walking!

So nice to see you out and about. Xxxxx

It's seldom that I agree with Norberry (on principle if nothing else...) but in this case I feel obliged and can only reiterate his demands for daily updates & photos.

PS - Sula looks VERY happy with the riding arrangement...

    Brilliant Tina!

  • Well that's fantastic well done Tinalay, your sister and of course, the star of the show Sula! Yes I agree, regular updates please and I hope the weather is kind!

I've just replied to your MEMORY WALK Post before I saw this, so this has answered all my questions except one! Do you have a Just Giving Page set up as I'd be happy to sponsor you, it's a good cause!

    Love Annette x

Thanks  sadly it’s a cause that touches so many of us. I’m lucky because my care since diagnosis really has been outstanding. My sister was thrown into a confusing number of agencies all responsible for little bits but no one responsible for the whole person. She had to ask for everything & pay for carers even when her OH was in hospital to ‘keep her slot’ Whenhe went i i care the fees were eye watering no wonder people end up selling their houses. xx
