I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

    1. Nice walk in the sun ( even though it was through graveyard - lots of lovely bulbs in flower, shame about all the plastic ones thoughUnamused)

    2. A "charm of goldfinches" in the garden - anyone else remember learning collective nouns at primary school? I would love to see a "parliament of owls" for example.

    3. Hot cross bun with lots of butter.

The thought just struck me, oh how wonderful it would be to have a parliament of owls at the moment, instead of the "shower of charlatans" we have.

A properly lovely day. I do rember the nouns although there are hundreds that apply to birds. We have been eating crumpets, both comfort foods! Xx

Thanks Tinalay, I bet everyone feels exactly the same. We just love good news and our chums enjoying themselves against so many odds is what its all about. I actually feel excited when someone is reporting an upturn in the weather, the garden flowers or the husband learning to be more useful. (That bit applies to me.)

I just know SiT will castigate me mercilessly for my multitude of traditional feminine feelings.

    Xxx

    Three good things today (already)

1 Met my Macmillan nurse today and she's just lovely. Turns out she lived about 2 streets away from us in Cottesloe, Perth W.A. about 15 years apart!

2 Had a short solo ride in TT when the sun came out. Had to duck under some railings because the chair didn't fit between them, bumped my head & burst into tears, otherwise an unqualified success.

3 Booked tickets for Paul Weller at the end of June, very excited to have something in the diary.

Better and better although not the bumping your head and crying bit. May have to fit you with proximity sensors!

Are you trying to get into trouble with the Paul Weller situation. He is The MODfather, not allowed to mention them on here! Get your Parka ready.
