I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

  • This thread is supposed to be about nice things, not heron haters and such like. So to redress the balance, today's three good things:

Another walk with a friend, sitting on bench in the sun surrounded by trees and bird song.

A siskin regularly turning up on my bird feeder, and a tree creeper doing its tree creeping stuff on my cherry tree

Pottery throwdown on later on tv- a lovely relaxing watch of such talented people ( and by chance last week they made water features featuring animals,  serendipitous as Tinalay asked about water features on garden thread)

Sorry, lesson learnt. Treecreeper is my wife's favourite bird. We watch the pottery as well. It is a peaceful programme except my wife will keep shouting 'potters' in a mad Irish accent.

We watch pottery throw down as well. My daughter is a potter and she makes ceramics to sell in her shop in Norwich.

It must be lovely to do something like that for a living. I don't doubt its hard work but lovely nethertheless.I did pottery at school. Enjoyed it as a bit of a lark really, but my thumbnail pot and my depiction of cows did get me an art O level.  .......... E grade natch.

  • My three good things today

    1. A e-bike ride into the peak district, OH on road bike so I beat him up most of the hills!
    2. A relax in our hot tub
    3. Boozy chocolate cake and ice cream for pudding

Loving the 3 good things Blush

1 A soak in the bath at home, bliss.

2 A friend has lent my sister a wheelchair & I went for a test ride. Really comfortable, my niece & sister said it took no effort to push & we had a walk in glorious warm sunshine. It will live at my sisters house, all energy saving plans.

3 OH finished the ramps & I can go onto the decking & around the side of the house independently!!

    xx

Are you sure you are not well. I think we need a stewards enquiry? Are you doing b& b at yours? Put me down for a couple of nights, don't worry about the bike.

Whats all this hot soaking going on. SiT offered but I don't think it will be the same!

Just great to hear all of this good news.x

  • Tinalay and Norberry, we bought the hot tub once I got my incurable diagnosis, I'm not supposed to use it with my Picc line, but i have a limbo cover and hang my arm over the side. It's great for relaxing. Having had an extra week off chemo has allowed me to use it more, I hadn't been in it since before Christmas.
