I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

  • Hi Salis,  As Norberry said they are drop in centres all over the UK.  Not sure where you are but a new one is about to open (or maybe has already) attached to Clatter bridge hospital, I'm in Scotland and there is one near or located in the grounds of large hospitals, they are great. If you put Maggie Centre near me followed by your postcode you should find your nearest one!

I actually got a notification (please note Tvmàn) with your post (what is Maggies) so I came onto this post to find you to reply and have just read from page 1 to page 11 to find you. Of course I looked at page 12 first and should have gone back one at a time (duh!) But I started at beginning. However it has been a pleasure reading all your posts!

A warm welcome Cake5 we've not met yet but saw your name here!

    Love Annette x

  • Hi ALL  When Daloni started these posts, I told her I wouldn't be posting in it every day because it would be hard to just pick out 3 things.

Well, .In actual fact since about October I have had more bad days than good ones, so thats what i get for being a smarty and speaking too soon!  However today was a good day!

    1.  I got 3 hours sleep allmin a row this morning ( oh I'm talking Friday not Saturday)

    2.  I finished knitting an outfit for my granddaughter's doll. (If I can I will put a pic in CRAFTS post)

3   I've only had 4 dizzy spells today, so thats progress!

Oh Pet it was -9 here the other night and during the day we got UP to a high of -2!
