1. I'm just about to head off on a weekend with my eldest daughter (10) for a mothers and daughters activity weekend. It's raining but the wellies are packed! Hoping I survive!

2. Head a tiny 3 week old baby this morning - gorgeous remembering new life - so small and perfect!

3. Had a delivery of some amazing biscuits from a friend - special.

Have a good weekend all, despite all the hard.

My three good things from yesterday

Some old friends came for dinner - my oldest friend from university who I’ve known nearly 40 years. We had a lovely evening

The food was great. I made lamb with ratatouille followed by salted caramel brownies.

My younger daughter went to a party and had a great time. I was so pleased for her as she’s been struggling with a low mood for ages.

I took time to notice the flowers in my garden today. The forsythia, magnolia, camelia and cherry tree are all in blossom. The hellebores, bergenia, hyacinths, primrose, daffs and something white that I don’t know the name of are adding to the riot of colour. It’s joyful.

Boiled egg and soldiers for tea.

    A new lipstick.

I've heard it said that laughter is the best medicine, but right now believe Three Good Things is the best medicine for me. If you all just knew how much your posts lift me up!

    Here are mine for today:

    1. Tickle, tickle of whiskers on my cheek, then a delicate lick to the tip of my nose at 5am! My cat wanting fed.(I do love her! Sigh.)

    2. More glorious sun in the garden with an entertaining book.

    3. Surprise visit from friends I haven't seen since December with those nearly telepathic conversations in which you don't even need to finish sentences you know each other so well.

    Hi Daloni

I love my garden, it's a place to go when I am feeling low, a place where a riot of colour is happiness giving.

I'm going to give 3 good things about my garden.

My son cut the grass yesterday, between the showers and now I have clean straight lines that give a sense of tidiness and structure.

Thirty years ago, I made a vegetable garden which is surrounded by tight hedging, and only accessed through a 12 foot high open arch. Along the longest hedge, facing south, I planted a 20 foot row of daffodils that I could admire in the spring when a lot of work is going on. The whole row is blooming now and looking splendid.

I have ordered a white flowering clematis online, nothing unusual? Except that it flowers in the winter! I have been seriously gardening for over 35 years and that's the very first winter flowering clematis I have come across. It should look good planted against a dark hedge or climbing up a tree trunk and spreading among the maze of branches.

I have given you something to test your imagination guys.

    Hi all

I went to the funeral of a dear friend from my local incurable group. Very, very sad but the service was beautiful and the church was packed showing how much love she had in her life.

Afterwards I went to a group run by Marina Dalglish for ladies with BC and had some complementary therapy and a fab manicure.

I stopped at M&S on the way home where I bought a bikini for my holiday that starts this Sunday. I managed to try it on in the fitting room without bursting into tears (I have lost a stone since Christmas and feel a lot better for it.)

My love to everyone this wet and windy evening xx

Wow, Trish. I’m picturing it now and smiling.

So my three good things from yesterday.

    1. I had the ninth of 18 chemo sessions. I’m halfway there! Now I can count down instead of up.

    2. I had a nice chat with another patient and her husband. I mentioned three good things and said meeting them would be on my list fir today.

    3. I had a joyous evening and bedtime with my girls, laughing and chatting and hugging.

    Xx

    Hi Daloni

Good for you - half way there.  Hope that you are coping with side effects ok and that it works!!!

I’m having cycle 5 of 6 this Friday.  It’s palliative, no cure, but if it helps, then they will do another 3 months.  Fingers crossed.

side effects are worse this time.  Terrible diarrhoea (sorry, you didn’t want to know that!) and also terrible mouth ulcers that just won’t heal up.  Takes all the fun out of eating!  Also, keep feeling dizzy and have to sit down.

Anyway moan over,  lots of love strength and hugs to everyone.  Tesco man has just arrived, so off to put away the shopping

Hi Gaynor, sorry to hear the side effects are so miserable for you. My sister has an auto immune condition that causes terrible mouth ulcers. She found changing toothpaste to one that's free of sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) made a big difference. Colgate and Sensodyne both do one, I'm using the Colgate one in the hope that the few ulcers I've got won't get any worse, and so far so good... xx

    Hi

I am so sorry to hear about the side effects. Ugh! Have you tried benzydamine mouth wash? My CNS got this prescribed for me when I had chemo related mouth ulcers. It numbs the ulcers and helps them heal.

    My three good things today.

    1. I had a lovely lunch with a friend I hadn’t seen for ages. He’s so good about keeping in touch by phone and it was wonderful to catch up in person.

    2. The daffodils I bought at the weekend as tight buds are flowering and they look glorious. They have pale yellow petals and an almost orange trumpet.

    3. My latest crochet project - a blanket called Delft as it’s in shades of blue - is coming along nicely.

    Xx

    Hi Daloni

Thanks for the mouthwash suggestion.  I will ask my GP to prescribe one for me.  The mouthwash they have given me at the moment does nothing.

Yes, I’m loving seeing daffodils everywhere in my garden.  Makes m3 glad to be alive and not to be thinking about Cancer for a short while

    lots of love
