1. I'm just about to head off on a weekend with my eldest daughter (10) for a mothers and daughters activity weekend. It's raining but the wellies are packed! Hoping I survive!
2. Head a tiny 3 week old baby this morning - gorgeous remembering new life - so small and perfect!
3. Had a delivery of some amazing biscuits from a friend - special.
Have a good weekend all, despite all the hard.

Now this was genuinely a good day because
1. I went to the genetics with my older daughter to pick up get brca test results and she’s negative. She doesn’t carry the mutation that puts her at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
Actually I think I will stop. I can’t think of anything else that gets close.
Xx
Best. News. Ever. Think that's going to be in everyone's 3 good things Daloni, bloody brilliant!!! xx
daloni,
its a day for celebration I am so happy!
hugs to all,
millie
Oh Daloni, I've just read the terrific news about your daughter! You must be so relieved! I think That Good Thing should last you for days and hope when she's old enough to be tested, your youngest daughter is also clear!
Now as for the socks! Our son always took his socks off with his shoes when he came home and wouldn't wear slippers, he just loved his bare feet. When he got older and went to school, I would see he was wearing odd socks and tell him to go and change. His answer was "well mum, they are not "odd socks" because I've got another pair that are just the same!! Seeing your daughter brought that memory back and made me smile. Everything looks great, good for you! Keep sewing!!
Love Annette x
I'm so pleased for you and your daughter Daloni! That's excellent news for the entire family!
I do hope celebrations were long and energetic!

Hi everyone, I am back now from Fuerta Ventura. Came home early hours of Sunday morning and what a cold homecoming!! Heating on, first thing I did.
I have been following you all while I was away and what a mixture of news good and not so good. It would take too long to reply to you all individually, so I am just going to say hooray for the good news and I hope those with not so good news are now coming to terms with it all.
Three good things.
woke up to the birds singing this morning, it’s lovely to hear them.
I have finished the holiday washing. Why is there always so much? Not sure everything had been worn though.
Its not raining!
Love and hugs
Maggie xx
Welcome back Maggie! It really is cold, isn’t it? I have had a week of crushing fatigue so I’ve been curled up on the sofa interspersed with sewing.
So. Three good things.
1. It’s a Monday and normally I’d be having chemo today but it’s been put off until tomorrow because of the bank holiday. So I’ve been able to enjoy a day with my girls.
2. Fish and chips for lunch.
3. I’m wearing my newly crafted trousers and matching headscarf combo. My daughter says “it’s a look”. I think that’s a compliment
xx
Great to hear your daughter doesn't have the gene - I recently found out I don't either so neither do my girls - my cancer is just one of those things. You must be so relieved, so pleased for you. This news made me smile all day... xx
My three good things today:
I have managed to get out on my bike three times today - independence returning!
I had a fab piano lesson (just started, wanted something for me) - much laughter at my ineptitude.
Did the school run both ends of the day (on my brilliant bike) which I haven't been well enough to do for a few weeks. Kids were fab on their bikes too - very proud. Felt good.
My three good things from yesterday
1. Chicken, avocado and basil sandwich for lunch. Mmmm delicious
2. My daughter and I finished our two week Line of Duty binge watch - all the way from episode 1, series 1 to the finale of series five. Phew! Tense or what?
3. The beech trees are now in leaf and making green tunnels over the country lanes near my home.
