1. I'm just about to head off on a weekend with my eldest daughter (10) for a mothers and daughters activity weekend. It's raining but the wellies are packed! Hoping I survive!

2. Head a tiny 3 week old baby this morning - gorgeous remembering new life - so small and perfect!

3. Had a delivery of some amazing biscuits from a friend - special.

Have a good weekend all, despite all the hard.

I think everyone should be offered a port as they make life so easy,  I can literally do everything and the 'op' to insert it is simple.  The only down side is that not all hospitals have trained staff to access it but otherwise I encourage everyone to get it.  X

    Hi

here’s a link to that other discussion

I do hope you’re feeling reassured about the PICC line. I’ve never had one as my veins seem to hold up ok even with weekly chemo

    Hi Daloni

Thank you for the link and I’m glad you finally got your chemo.

I just hope your MRI gives good results.

The number of people wishing you well shows how you have helped us on this site.

I am ‘putting up with’ my PICC line for now.

Although nothing was explained to me, I can see the benefits while on this trial.

My veins have been fine but this trial requires more blood samples than usual.

Also there are 3 drugs of which one can give a skin reaction if leaked.

Also was useful when I had the reaction to the carbo. Blood pressure went to 76!

I think possible reactions may have also been a reason they did it.

Sorry for stilted message. Something strange happens if I write longer sentences!?

Wishing you the results you deserve.

    Hi everyone

Today I felt more like a ‘normal’ human being!

    1. I walked up to my village for the first time in a very long while. Better still I did it without using any of the many benches on the way. It isn’t very far but to me it was a marathon!

    2. I had someone come to cut my hair at last. I’ve been wanting it cut for months as it takes too much energy to wash and dry it on the bad weeks so I feel freeer.

    3. The bunch of flowers I cut from various bushes in my garden yesterday didn’t die overnight as I expected and smell and look lovely in my kitchen. Lilac, Choisya, Ceanothus etc.

I hope all those who have been struggling too recently had a better day.

That sounds wonderful . I can almost smell the flowers from here.

    My three good things

    1. I met Sara Pascoe, feminist comedian, whilst having breakfast at Harvey Nichols. It was a charity bash - Get Lippy for the Eve Appeal and it was very cool. I also met a fellow champ at the bash. She’s one of my favourite people in the world and it was so great to see her

    2. My older daughter’s sewing lessons continued. She made a pair of trousers. She’s thrilled.  Me too.

    3. I’ve completely overdone it in the last two days. The steroids have worn off and I’m immobilised. So I’m thankful for a comfy bed and a good view of my spring garden from the sofa.

Thanks . Put in my order? Not so much. I have made something over 50 pairs of these trousers in the last year or two for my daughters, sisters, nieces, their friends, my friends and indeed the local am dram society’s Christmas 2018 production of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. It all started when a friend was working in the Central African Republic was visiting and asked if she could bring anything over. My younger daughter was doing textiles at school so I asked her to bring some African fabric. She arrived with four six yard bolts of wonderful African waxed cotton. Daughter made one pair of trousers and got bored. I started sewing and everyone wanted a pair. I then found i could buy the African waxed cotton fabric here at prices from £10 for six yards. I also make dressing gowns and tops. Oh and headscarves. And bunting. I find a gentle day sewing is therapeutic when I’m fatigued.

This particular fabric was £15. My daughter wants a matching top and shorts for her festival 2019 wardrobe. She’s made scrunchies for her hair already. As she says “my friends will easily be able to find me”

As for the socks, she was one of those toddlers who hated wearing socks and getting dressed each day was a torture. My niece made her laugh by putting odd socks on her feet. She still usually wears odd socks out of habit and laziness. She can’t be bothered to pair them and frankly nor can I.

    Is this too much information?

Matching shorts, top and headband crafted last week with my niece plus bunting for my other niece’s boat.
