Thank you so much for all your advice and help. It’s made such a difference and has already lifted me out of this slump and helped me to see that my feelings are all completely normal. I just can’t thank you enough!

Here is a link to the online Macmillan HOPE course which I found very helpful. I've used it at my own pace and it's been really useful in moving me forward slowly.
I found there was a lot of processing to do and if other issues come up that interrupt that. it's natural it takes longer. I realise that happened to me. I'm sorry to hear that you were bereaved at such a time. Tests, diagnosis, surgery and recovery takes its toll before you add in dealing with grief and loss.
The Macmillan helpline can let you know what cancer support is available near you and your CNS will also know what's available. My hospital trust has a cancer wellbeing coordinator as do many hospitals now.
Sending best wishes.
Thank you so much for your kind words and reply. I will take a look at the link it sounds very useful :)
I too had a hysterectomy due to having ovarian cancer and I fully understand how you are feeling. Having the surgery was major but I just got on with it and then was positive through my recovery!! I thought I’d got through it all but 6 months later the enormity of what I had been through hit me like a tonne of bricks!! I’m so scared that the cancer will return and I am struggling with making plans for the future!! And usually I am a real planner so this is massive for me , it’s a very strange feeling that I don’t feel others understand!!
I totally understand, everyone around you moves on and expects you to have put it all behind you. I was sent some very useful reading material that helped me so much. I will try to locate and forward to you. I’m just going out to meet some friends, I will get back to you. It would be good to chat, sounds like we’re going through the same thing x
I just readDr Peter Harvey’s paper. It made such sense and helped me to have a think without the panic!
thanks for sharing it with me
Hi Bobblefoot3f1429 ……. good to hear that you found the paper helpful……
If you look back this threads you will see the follow up challenge/advice I always put out there as to use the paper as a tool to move life forward……
I am coming up to 10 years out from my last treatment, I turn 70 next month and I still use my note book with all the paper headings set out per page…… to set my goals and define how I live and move forward with life.
