Hi Poohbear
I bet you’re glad the surgery is over now. I had an epidural with my surgery, which wasn’t the same, but it failed and leaked out. However, I didn’t have an issue with pain relief at all post surgery, and found it’s well taken care of. I had my pain pump in hdu, but back on the ward it was paracetamol, and shots of oramorph when required. I didn’t always need either of these, but usually had a shot of oramorph to help me sleep at night. For me, the thought of pain was way worse than the reality, and I hope it’s the same for you. Good luck with your recovery, and take it easy.

Absolutely! But it seems like things are going well for you, and the team are pleased with how you’re doing which is the main thing. Recovery takes time after such a major surgery, so take care.
