Hello all. Hope you are all doing well. Advice please. I had loop colostomy surgery two weeks ago. So far not too bad although my skin is sore and I can't sleep on my left side anymore (very annoying) Yesterday I passed a stool through my back passage as well as into my bag. I'm a bit concerned that something isn't right. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I be worried? Thanks in advance. Michelle x
Hi Michelle75300. I had a loop Ileostomy as well but I think the principal’s the same in that some of the output can get into the non functioning part of the ‘loop’ and work its way through and out the normal way. As Artsie says though, give your stoma nurse a ring if you’re worried or the nurses on here who are available every day from 8-8 on 0808 808 00 00
Michelle I had the same as you Double loop Stoma Boris and Nicola They say that passing through the back is what's left in your bowls .. If you have the feeling that you have a need to push that'sk .This felling will ease of.
After 4months and NO Chemotherapy I got a reversal (as everything was cut out) My surgeon was pleased that I didn't have chemo ..
If you have any worries phone your contact Nurses ..Alaine
