Morning everyone

Just to ask if anyone has ideas about suitable swimwear for ladies with a stoma

I did try a swimsuit from one of the specialist firms but didnt like the inside pocket as it made it far too thick and uncomfortable

Hoping for a hot summer

Kath

  • Hi Kath. I'd suggest a tankini rather than a swimsuit. A good quality one for support and coverage. I also went for a size bigger on the top so that it didn't ride up too much. An all over pattern helps to hide any lumps and bumps or maybe some ruching. And a short sarong to wrap around for walking about.

Hoping for a hot summer here too ( we can but hope) x

  • Hi.thanks.tankini is a great idea.I had thought of the pattern and a sarong but not getting a size larger to stop it riding up

    Heres to a great summer

  • Hi Kath

I have always gone for tankinis with my stomas and find them great. I have both plain and patterned and have always just bought them from Matalan. I sometimes mix and match the plain and patterned, with the patterned on the bottom half. They offer great coverage and I find them supportive and way cheaper than specialist swimwear. Much handier for getting changed too.

  • I’m a tankini girl too. I find it’s quick access costumes can be a wriggler to get off when wet. I bought a couple last year for Whoopi. I’ll be wearing them this year hopefully even though whoops is no longer visible. I still need quick access

    Enjoy the summer
