Hi guys,
It's been a few days since I have been here, been having some one to one time with my youngest daughter as it's been a bit much for her, having people around to help me and not getting any mummy time.
For anyone that is new on here I had a Laparoscopic low TME Harman's operation on 6/3/23 for excision of a rectal tumour, and I have a colostomy,
My stoma nurse came on Thursday she is very pleased how everything is going, she said that she is disgusted that the hospital never had someone come in and talk to me about what I can eat, as most of you know hospital wasn't a very good experience for me.
I am now able to eat more or less what I used to eat but she said don't rush in to having spicy food or anything that didn't agree with me before my operation, as things like cheese and fried eggs also spicy food used to go through me, the first thing I had for my tea on Thursday was stew with some mash but a very small portions.
Today my eldest daughter cooked me a chicken roast dinner, may regret having a little bit of cabbage but it was lovely,
Hope you guys are getting on ok?
Much love
Paula xxx
Hi Paula
Thanks for the update and it sounds as if you’re really managing well
Mummy time sounds perfect it’s so hard for her too and the reassurance is really important that life goes on and you and her will have fun
Also it’s lovely to hear the jelly has definitely gone and roast is in
Take care
Sending you a very big hug xx
Ann
Thanks Ann, my little girl has been so good through all this, she has always been like an adult child as I call her anyway as she has grown up around alot of adults.
She said to me yesterday I'm so proud of you mummy, brought tears to my eyes
I did have a little bit if blood coming out of my stoma last night when I changed, but it wasn't pouring but it stopped before I put next bag on, I panicked but my eldest daughter was like don't panic you got this which helped.
Take care Paula x
Hi not been on here for while, been just recovering and having time with the children and grandchildren, putting my feet up whilst they spoil me, I'm now eating more now still have the odd ice cream or some soup but definitely staying away from the jelly lol, I hope your well?
Take care Paula x
