Change Rooms

Just a thought but I think life would be easier and I would attract far fewer dirty looks from parents wanting to change a babies nappy if the word baby was dropped from baby change rooms. I feel this should go hand in hand with a campaign to explain the reason for the change

Additionally have others found the tray to be too high I have only ever seen a second tray at the level to change a bag at Jersey Airport which proudly boasted it was stoma friendly  unfortunately only on arrivals side.

  • Moira, you really are such a tonic! I was having a bad day yesterday-in tears when we had some disappointing news (not health related luckily) and I was feeling so cold and miserable in the house, scared to put the heating on because of the bills. You two cheered me up no end, and I have woken up today in a much better frame of mind, and not so defeatist! I have a phone call this morning with my eldest to look forward to, and will make a pan of soup later. Today will be a better day.

  • That’s the way

I’m silver grey too. I rinse mine purple.  It’s silver at the moment because of my op but the purples coming out today. It washes out so no roots. It took a lot of experimenting but I’ve got the right product now for the job.
have to wear rubber gloves otherwise hands are purple too.
Fanola it’s called only available online.
    Go for it Sarah

    Have a good day.

  • Oh and don’t worry about your daughters being horrified. It’s up to you
    .
Others have said to me about my hair and I’ve said

    BUT I LIKE IT

I’ve had women in the street ask me what product I use they’re about my age I’ve even had a man but he said it was for his wife. When I looked at his head I wasn’t so sure!
My announcement of my whoopi tattoo is not going great with my family

. She’s arriving next year anyway!

  • Thanks for the recommendation Ann, I’ll take a look at that. My eldest has a tiny tattoo on her ankle, so can’t really criticise me if I get something done. But in any case what I do to my hair or body is MY choice in the end, and if I want it I shall have it. We do spend so much time pleasing others and doing what they expect of us, saying we’re fine, not admitting our issues. Time for me to get away from that I think! Can’t wait to see how Whoopi’s daisy turns out-it’s a brilliant idea.

  • Hi Sarah and Ann,

Well I'm 72 now and my hair is still brown! I'm toying with thidea of wig in a daft colour!

We all have encouraged  the other, and it's great to know you're always there!

Your daughter's would soon get over the shock! Do it for YOU, even if it's a  wash out one!

    Take care!

    Moira x

  • I might start with a simple wash out dye in case I look too scary! I used to always have my hair dyed brown-my natural colour before the grey started-but stopped when I got my diagnosis. Now I love my white/grey hair and wish I’d let it go that way sooner! But always up for something new!

  • hi Sarah

With the Fanola it’s a shampoo , the more you put on and the longer you leave it the stronger it is.
If you use it once a week it’s mauve to lilac or can do it every wash for deeper purple. The pepper parts of mine go a darker shade. Im salt everywhere except the front which can be brassy that’s why I started using it. I have no roots.
I used to have mine brown but my roots seemed to come through so quickly I had it highlighted to grow it out.
    Have fun xx

  • I was a red head when I was ting but it darkened over time to a chestnut colour and then just brown! My granddaughters are both red heads but I can see  the same happening to her! When they went to China they were a tourist attraction!

I wish my hair was silver, my husband has a great head of white hair, that he got in his twenties!

Go for it Sarah, you're not hurting anyone, especially if it washes out!

    Take care,

    Moira x

  • Go red Moira

    Go on do it !
