Is it common for fear of stoma to put people off cancer surgery? Is a reduction in life span preferable to the stoma and the loss of control you could have? What if you don’t have a proper support network to look after you after the stoma is fitted?
Hi Yoyo
Thats amazing news. You must be so relieved time to plan for the treatment and also time to have a treat.
Actually I didn’t say this before but when I was told my treatment plan I knew I would have a stoma. My husbands good friends dad refused the operation or treatment and that helped me decide that I would definitely go for whatever was offered
Oh to add I have total control over my stoma I wasn’t able to empty my bowel before as I was blocking.
My life’s improved no end with the cancer in the bin and I forget about the stoma and enjoy life
Ann
